WING42 - BOEING 247D MSFS

WING42 - BOEING 247D MSFS

Being a big fan of vintage aircraft in MSFS2020, I've been following the development of this aircraft sim for quite a while. I like it! The sim takes some getting used to since the switches, levers and other controls maintain their state from one session to the next and you don't just jump in and start flying without a little forethought as to the condition you left the plane in the last time you flew. Having said that, this is a very immersive experience and quite a solid performer.

REDWING SIM - L-1049 SUPER-CONSTELLATION AIRCRAFT MSFS

REDWING SIM - L-1049 SUPER-CONSTELLATION AIRCRAFT MSFS

In my previous review I wrote about the problems with this sim and sim update 7. Redwing has corrected the problems with their model and the Connie now behaves as it should. This is a beautiful sim and well worth the price. The Connie is such an iconic aircraft and this model does it wonderful justice. Well done, Redwing and thanks for the quick update!

Yes, yes, it is early access and BEFORE Sim update 7 I would have given this endeavor a much higher rating. BUT, since update 7 it is completely unflyable. The engines won't keep running, the throttles cannot be moved and even a CTRL-E won't start the sim. Before update 7, no problems, nice sim. After, nothing.

AEROPLANE HEAVEN - ELECTRA 10A MSFS

AEROPLANE HEAVEN - ELECTRA 10A MSFS

Not bad at all! Aeorplane Heaven has a nice, stable, well configured Electra. The textures are very nice, the flight model is stable and predictable, and it is fun to fly. The only downside for me is that the sounds are very loud...it's very hard to hear and understand ATC in this plane but hopefully that will be corrected in the future. That is the only reason I give it four stars instead of five. It is a good buy in my opinion.

REALPHYSICS - DORAND AR1 A2 200 MSFS

REALPHYSICS - DORAND AR1 A2 200 MSFS

This is a simulation that is not sure where it belongs: 1917 or 2021. I've flown this plane off and on for about four hours now and I have to say, I enjoy flying it. It is realistically low and slow, the flight model "feels" about right and it's easy to take off and land. The textures need so very much work...the fabric and wood are really sad. The thoroughly modern instrument panel completely detracts from the plane's era and the sunglasses and modern headset/microphone don't belong on this plane. The sound package is just OK but I can live with it. I bought it because I like biplanes. I fly it because it flies like I would expect a WWI biplane to fly. I would hope that the developers would revisit the textures and the instrument modelling but regardless, I'll keep flying it. For the money, you could do worse.

BLUEMESH - CAUDRON RAFALE 430 MSFS

BLUEMESH - CAUDRON RAFALE 430 MSFS

This is a fun plane to fly...the textures are quite nice, the flight model is challenging but not over the top. Take-off's and landings are quite controllable and it is well worth the money. It's not the fastest model out there and the sounds could be a little better but all in all, you'll like this plane. It punches nice holes in the clouds... Good Job, Bluemesh!

A1R DESIGN BUREAU - A1R RYAN ST-A SPECIAL MSFS

A1R DESIGN BUREAU - A1R RYAN ST-A SPECIAL MSFS

I like this plane! If you like the WACO, you'll like this one as well. It is 1930's flying all over again...the textures are superb, the flight characteristics forgiving. The take-off and landing rolls can be a challenge until you get used to the flight model, but it feels like you are flying over the countryside in the 1930's. I find this a good purchase for my types of sim flying. Fun bird.
