JUSTFLIGHT - F-111 AARDVARK (DOWNLOAD)

I already owned Virtavia's F-111 so I was hesitant to invest in another aardvark. But after flying this baby, I'm glad I did. I'm very, very happy with my purchase. This is one gorgeous warbid inside and out and I find the flight dynamics to be very convincing. No frame rate impact for me either.

I give it 3 stars too. The coverage is not as large as I'd hoped and the photographic scenery does not mesh with the default scenery, the way that Georender does well. Another issue is that the photographs were obviously taken in morning light, casting shadows that don't look right during sunset hours. However, the scenery is still pleasing to the eye and far superior to the default FSX textures.

CARENADO - CESSNA C172N SKYHAWK II FSX

CARENADO - CESSNA C172N SKYHAWK II FSX

Another Carenado winner. The VC is gorgeous and just as I remember it from my own student piloting days. The instrumentation is simple and beautifully accurate. The external model is right on and the textures are the best I've seen in a GA plane for FSX. Very nice reflection effects with bloom lighting activated. I found the flight model very believable and accurate within the bounds of FSX physics. 2 thumbs way up.

With the massively complex virtual cockpit and every switch in authentic Russian, beginners might think twice about this one. Go to the support forum and download the quickstart guide. However, if you're looking for authenticity and superb detail - the .pdf manual is 63 pages - Nemeth certainly gives you your money worth and then some. Excellence on every level.

PILOT'S - SR71 STEALTH

PILOT'S - SR71 STEALTH

Outstanding visual model. Quite superior to Alphasim's. Excellent closeup detail. The VC and 2d panels are also superior to Alphasim's, but neither is exceptional. I found the sounds to be a bit disappointing, but an excellent freeware sound package is available. Physics are believable. Undoubtedly, the best SR71 out there.

CARENADO - CESSNA 182 SKYLANE II RG FS2004

As far as I'm concerned, any plane Carenado makes is well worth buying. I don't think any other designer of g.a. planes combines such a blend of stunning textures, great modeling, superb vitrual cockpits, and frame-rate friendliness. The C182RG looks to be their best work yet with a virtual cockpit and guage detail that knocked my socks off. Outstanding.

FLYTAMPA - LEGACY - SAN FRANCISCO FS2004

Shane ain't kidding. I was VERY impressed at the minimal impact on framerates KSFO provided. Thank heaven for designers like FLY Tampa that know how to provide great visual detail while keeping framerates up. 3D taxi lights, moving trams, plenty of static aircraft and ramp vehicles, and SFO's buildings faithfully recreated. A superb addition to the FLY Tampa series. BRAVO!

FSQUALITY - SAAB 105

A very enjoyable, fast little trainer. Great textures and external modeling. V.C. nicely done. Sounds very well done, too. I only have a slight problem with the flight modeling, in that the plane doesn't seem to bleed airspeed off at all in tight turns. Otherwise, a top notch package
