FLYTAMPA - COPENHAGEN V.2 P3D4-5

FLYTAMPA - COPENHAGEN V.2 P3D4-5

Using FlyTampa EKCH with P3DV4.4, UTLive, GSX and FSLabs A320 as my new SAS hub. Stunning! Visuals are as life-like and immersive as you can get in this simulator. Performance on my quite old rig (overclocked i7-3770, GTX970) with all features turned on (including lots of AI aircraft, trains and moving ramp staff) is 26 fps, smooth and stutter free as seen from the cockpit on a normal approach, which is really good for this level of complexity. I am sure modern systems will get WAY better than that. Make sure to have autogen density/radius and road traffic in P3D lowered to make the most of the performance for the airport's features instead. Docking and ground immersion is the best I have encountered. Surfaces, lighting both day and night are close to the real thing. ILS, AFCAD have worked fine and to the correct positions. Beware of course to adjust P3D accordingly to make the most of the reflections, bloom and shadow effects to fit your taste, especially for night ligthing effects. Not bothering so much with the surroundings and the Öresundsbridge, however also that is really well modelled and is a beautiful sight on a clear day approaching 22L. A very, very good scenery indeed. Highly recommended.

Works like a charm in P3DV4.4. My go to airport for beautiful and highly immersive commuter traffic with my Twin Otter between Juliana ans St Barth. Combined with extra AI traffic this is an absolute gem. Smooth performance, well above 40fps on my average rig (i7 gen 3, gtx 970) If I could only have one environment for flight sim, this is it.

AEROSOFT - TRONDHEIM- VAERNES X 2.0 FSX P3D

Wow, wow, WOW. This takes airport modelling to a new level. Moving escalators, train passing, for the first time ever on a sim-airport I see cars moving in and out of parking lots, crisp reflections and many people inside by the gates... It is shear joy flying in and out of Vaernes! From the final over nicely modelled surroundings, via taxiing and all the buzzle moving around, to the gate with great immersion. Using this with P3DV4 with SODE 1.51 and ORBX Norway. All blending in nicely. Highly recommended!

TAXI2GATE - PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE LFPG FSX P3DV3

TAXI2GATE - PARIS CHARLES DE GAULLE LFPG FSX P3DV3

Absolutely stunning effort considering the size and complexity of the airport! This is massive, with lots of terminal details, many 3d effects, very good VAS and FPS, SODE jetways work just beautifully. And lots of features surrounding the airport aswell. Still one star off due to a bit too many small but (to me) significant flaws, considering the premium price and competition that keeps raising the bar (e.g. FlyTampa EHAM): AFCAD is a bit sloppy, AI is not positioned correctly at the gates and not centered on taxiways. Roads and parking lots in the airport area not populated, no dynamic vehicles on the aprons. Roads under the bridges and overpasses disappear in pretty unnatural looking 2d black textures. All of this takes away a bit of immersion when taxiing my A321 in and out of LFPG. This should however by no means discourage you, it is still the best Charles de Gaulle ever made for P3Dv3. So if you are a major european hub airliner captain, this one is highly recommended!

AEROSOFT - MEGA AIRPORT FRANKFURT V2 FSX P3D3

AEROSOFT - MEGA AIRPORT FRANKFURT V2 FSX P3D3

Solid effort by Aerosoft on a large and complex airport. Everything is updated to current status and I feel immersed when taxying to the gate, at least in the daytime. I run this on my latest update of P3DV3.2. The usual Aerosoft 2d texture quality on buildings, not really top notch or innovative on anything, but functioning, smooth, appealing look & bug free on everything I tried. Performance is absolutely fine, I get 25-35fps nice and smooth on approach and taxi with lots of AI traffic in my Aerosoft A319. WAS is no issue for me in P3D. Very good for such a huge airport on my average rig. (i7-3770@4.2, GTX660, 128SSD) A few quirks with the bridge to the new runway not carrying AI traffic over the highway, they rather dive right through. Basically an issue with the simulator having trouble with AI traffic on different elevations, so no real issue for me but might be good to know. Only thing I really miss is the lack of dynamic AES lite traffic on the apron and trains for the P3D version, since that is only supported for FSX. P3D native traffic makes up for some of it though. Night textures on buildings are quite bright by default and there is not enough contrast between dark spots and lighted areas on the apron and gate areas. A nuisance since that is not very realistic. Partly this can be corrected by the P3D lighting options though. And of course this is a problem that I have seen with most add-ons, so not unique to EDDF. However: This EDDF v2.0 is well worth buying and a must have for all European airline pilots. Thanks Aerosoft for a well functioning major hub in Germany!

TAXI2GATE - MUNICH AIRPORT EDDM FSX P3D

TAXI2GATE - MUNICH AIRPORT EDDM FSX P3D

Full score for a solid product of a huge and difficult airport. The sheer effort deserves high marks. Landing at dusk with the A320 and then taxi to the terminal 1 gates is an utter joy with the static airport clutter, the lighting, the amount of 3d effects on the terminal buildings. FPS is really good (25+ stutter free) also on higher settings in my P3DV3.1 with Aerosoft A320, with half full AI traffic (i7@4,3, GTX660). Unfair to complain, but with the nice 3d effects when parking at the gates, where I am eye to eye with the lounge area and the stores inside the terminal, I am wishing more than ever that there were people inside. Lots of people, eager to board while I am preparing for the return flight. It is strange to see perfectly into the terminal from the cockpit, but only watch empty spaces. Also, I would like to see even more dynamic airport traffic, it is a bit sparse considering that there appears to be room for more performance wise. Sad that AES lite is not supported for P3D, I have always liked that very much with the extra immersion that it provides on approach and taxi. That is the only advantage that the previous FSX Aerosoft version has over this little gem. As always, night textures on the office buildings, parking lots and hangars are unrealistically bright, even when adjusting with the P3D lighting features. But that goes for all and any airport I have used so far. Apart from these minor issues, if you like flying airliners to a major european hub, this one is highly recommended!

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - NEW YORK CITY X V2 FSX P3D

My specs: Prepar3d v3. I7 3770k@4.2,GTX660, 256Gb single SSD. An average Flightsim-rig with the latest P3D + Active Sky Next with average cloud coverage. Autogen@normal, all other@ very high. (not max) Flew it with a trike over Manhattan @ 22fps fluid and soft with an occasional texture block flicker. Exceptional views from 700ft all the way from the statue of liberty to central park. Colors, buildings, docks... it's all really impressive. Took a dive to 200ft and shot along Broadway southbound @ 15fps smooth and nice between the highrises. Amazing! Textures at this range are a bit blurry and skewed, but still outstanding considering the massive number of buildings we are talking about here. Next test was to take my Aerosoft A319 (a pretty system-heavy, but not quite PMDG style aircraft) from KJFK and flew over south Manhattan at 3000 ft eastbound. Absolutely marvelous watching the view! The best rendition of NYC I have ever seen! This time at about 20fps, butter smooth = good enough for me. Never any OOMs, load delays or stutters. Note that this is P3dV3, which handles these things a lot better than previous versions. I had big doubts when running this scenery in its previous version at my old FSX. But now, with DD having a tremendous job at optimizing and tuning the scenery for v2, and running it in the P3DV3 Environment, this is great great stuff.

AEROSOFT - MEGA AIRPORT DUESSELDORF FSX P3D FS2004

AEROSOFT - MEGA AIRPORT DUESSELDORF FSX P3D FS2004

Impressive piece of work. The airport is complex, but well depicted, the AESLite fleet is there in all its splendor giving life to the aprons and the airport surroundings. On my PC (i7, GTX260) I get 25+ fps in a default Cessna flying around the airport, with the TrafficX slider set to 40% (which is a lot of AI traffic), so the performance is quite ok for my purpose. A Carenado C208 is 22-25FPS when circling around the area. More complex aircraft were not tested. It is the usual Aerosoft texture quality, not real HD or any new shadowing technologies like Flightbeam, ORBX or FlyTampa have introduced. But what is there is solid, adequately detailed for normal & it is bug free. If you know Aerosoft products then you know what I mean. What is really neat is the nearby detailed train station with three different types of train sets, including the ICE, stopping there. Smooth stops and accelerations of the trams and monorails running through other parts of the area add to exceptional 'live feel'. I am impressed! Lighting and night textures are quite nicely done, although, as usual..., they are slightly bright and with too little contrast for my taste. This is however not unique to this airport. If you are an ariport buff like me wanting lots of life and movement then this is definitely recommended, it is probably the best one to date when it comes to that aspect. I would have liked a slighlty larger area of the surroundings included in the scenery. As it is now, the edges are quite close to the airport, meaning that it is always close to the default, ugly, FSX world outside, which is a bit annoying. This however is only a problem when sightseeing around the area, and would not be a problem if you are an Airline pilot sticking mostly to the Airport itself and just fly in and out. It is not visible from the airport area. Note, IFR flights were not tested, so I cant comment on the accuracy and functionality of that. In summary: Apart from the minor issues i have with it, this is a great product! If you want to fly in central Europe and like a buzzling and lively destination to fly in to, this is an absolute gem.

AEROSOFT - US CITIES X - LOS ANGELES FSX P3D

AEROSOFT - US CITIES X - LOS ANGELES FSX P3D

A difficult animal to depict. Aerosoft has taken a vast urban area and tried to make the best of it at a low price. And a nice job they have done. Compared to default... super job! I have KLAX from FSDT and it blends in very well, my GA Cessna flight to Van Nuys, and then to Catalina was shear pleasure to fly compared to the default, absolutely great to see the urban areas below, and the island was well depicted. Since it is a huge area I will not complain on all the 'missing' custom buildings, better to focus on all that are actually there, because there a lot of good landmarks to choose from. One star off as I saw quite some flickering on a few textures when flying to the south of KLAX, which is irritating on daytime VFR flights. Anyway, if you like the LA area, like I do... this add on is warmly recommeded for the price. Just missing the heat of all the choppers over LA and hoping some AI addon could fill the skies with them, but that's another story.

Nice little upgrade, my earlier review with the minor criticm stands. But with my Quadcore, average graphic card system, FPS goes up around 20% on all included airports with most scenery sliders (except traffic) maxed out. Of course still highly recommended if you look for well made german airports. Note, only tested in VFR flights with GA aircraft.

AEROSOFT - ROTTERDAM X FSX P3D3

[FSX, VFR test only, IFR not tested] Smaller airport that in my opinion is a bit dry & dull, yet functional. No parking at the terminal = no jetways. It is very well implemented and I like the fact that textures stretch way beyond the airport. Lots of detail, many small custom buildings both in and outside the airport. No moving airport traffic makes the scenery a bit static. Still a nice VFR airport to fly into with lots to look at. Keeps what it promises, and is definitely a bargain at the price. Use it together with NL2000V4 Photoscenery and it will make this part of the Netherlands come alive.

AEROSOFT - GERMAN AIRFIELDS 2 - NORDLICHTER (DOWNLOAD)

Nice! An excellent addition of several quality fields in northeast Germany for GA flying and local to regional airliners. Being a flat landscape in that part of the country, the fields and strips tend to reside in a not so exciting environment, compared to for example the spectacular landscape around their Swiss counterparts. The modelling is for the most part excellent, ground textures are good enough and the ship traffic on the canal, aswell as the helicopter dynamics in Kiel lends life and credibility to the whole atmosphere. Lots of statis cars, and numerous little details, like signs, tables, people lend nice ambience on the small strips. Especially Kiel and Flensburg I like a lot, and soaring along the Ostsee canal is pure pleasure. One star off for including three or four airstrips that do not feel finished and are sloppily done, like Neumuenster. Better to just omit them instead of throwing unfinished ones in to make the list longer. Some minor flaws when ships are not so well aligned when they go under bridges, but overall the animations work well and look great, considering the limitations of FSX. Summing up, I highly recommend this scenery for anyone who is in for easy (but often windy!) GA flying between good, life like airfields. Great value for money.

All airports buildings are made with good attention to detail, having been to most of the airports irl it definitely is close to the real thing. Some airports are over 4 years old by now, so a few details have naturally changed since. Plenty of eye candy on the apron, most notably the dynamic AESLite fleet giving extra life to the surroundings. Good frame rates on my FSX installation, only Hamburg (the biggest in the lot) may pose a performance risk to weaker PCs I noticed a few minor irritations, like sparse and sloppy texturing in the immediate surroundings around the Bremen airport, so following the tram in my trike into the city is quite irritating since it does not have the crisp environment it deserves, not even when close to the airport. Overall however, if you are city hopping in central Europe, this set is super value for money, no doubt. A solid package in any European airport collection.

AEROSOFT - KEFLAVIK X FSX FS2004

AEROSOFT - KEFLAVIK X FSX FS2004

Nice little airport with the expected good Aerosoft craftsmanship. Works fine, lots of static cars and buses to give it a bit of life. Framerate friendly. No dynamic traffic, and also no 'see through' effects, only 2d glass textures. Considering it's a fairly new release I would have appreciated those features for extra reality. But overall a solid effort, surely worth the price, and well recommended if Iceland is your game. Advising to take the deal with the Iceland package, otherwise this airport just sits there in the middle of dull FSX landscape. The extra bucks are well spent, since that package will truly take Iceland to a whole new level of reality.

AEROSOFT - MEGA AIRPORT MUNICH FSX FS2004

Stunning attention to detail and lots of eye candy. Soaring over the airport (be sure you have a traffic addon!) at dawn in a trike at 1000ft is pure pleasure. Apart from the usual important stuff that many other commerncial airports now do well, like hq building modelling and texturing (although only flat glas textures, no 3d see through like on some newer releases), the thing that stands out are the amazingly smooth moving airport vehicles and the traffic on the roads. Detailed modelled with working underpassage roads and railway tracks, vehicles driving in correct speeds, trucks and buses even use turn signals and the trains stop and start with accurate acceleration at the station. Also frame rate friendly considering the detail level. For VFR flyers (IFR accuracy not tested) that visually like a 'feel there' airport, this one is highly recommended!
