Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (IATA: STL, ICAO: KSTL, FAA LID: STL) is an international airport serving Greater St. Louis. It is about 10 miles (16 km) northwest of downtown St. Louis in unincorporated St. Louis County between Berkeley and Bridgeton. It is the largest and busiest airport in the state with 250 daily departures to about 90 domestic and international locations. In 2010, 12.3 million passengers traveled through the airport. The airport serves as a focus city for Southwest Airlines.
Named for Albert Bond Lambert, an Olympic medalist and manufacturer of Listerine, the airport rose to international prominence in the 20th century, thanks to its association with Charles Lindbergh, its groundbreaking air traffic control, its status as the hub of Trans World Airlines, and its iconic terminal. Designed by Minoru Yamasaki, the building inspired terminals at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport in France.
Very nice St Louis Scenary, Realistic Gates, Alto No sode Jetways But there is a GSX Profile On the Ini builds Website Still works with p3dv5 If you want to add it into the Game add the Files Via The scenary Library Scenary Goes above Terrain, Overall I love this Thanks to the Develpers.
I bought this scenery and really like it, but noticed that AI aircraft would hit the ground several miles away from the airport. With assistance from a friend, I discovered the airport approach altitudes were set to 0 feet for the 12-30 runways. I posted a support request in the T2G forums and eventually got a reply. I was given a download link to a corrected airport file that was supposed to fix the problem, but that one had the same problem. I finally used Airport Design Editor to open each approach and fixed the problem myself.
The scenery itself is very nice. I was happy to finally get a good KSTL payware airport and I am very happy with it, save for the AI problem. Despite that problem, I would definitely buy another T2G scenery and probably will soon.
As has been noted before, there were a number of performance issues when released. I can gladly say the frame heavy files have now been excluded by the developer, and you have the option of restoring them into the scenery if your system can handle them. The airport looks good and runs just fine now. It doesn't have all the features of some other payware airports, and that is why I'm assigning a four star rating. It is a good value however for the price. I do recommend it, and would consider other airports by this developer.
I initially gave this product a 1 star rating due to terrible frame rates. The developer, Cesar contacted me via email and sent me some corrected files along with instructions on removing a few files. I installed the update and removed those files and then flew back into this scenery using a high end payware aircraft. I must say Cesar fixed it perfectly. The textures at the airport are very very good. The frame rates are now very good for me. I now highly recommend buying this scenery. His texture work to me is right up there with the better scenery companies. This is a must have airport scenery for those looking to fill in the gap that is missing in this part of the United States.
My first review was one star because of extremely slow frame rates. I have to give a lot of credit to Cesar from Taxi2Gate for being very responsive and providing me with updated files, which fixed the problem. My only suggestion for them is more thorough testing to avoid such a rough start. I'll give it five stars if they can provide AFCAD parking assignments closer to the real world. My UT2 AI aircraft are coded properly for airline and parking, but in some cases, the parking seems random. I think a lot of users will be happy to see this airport being so well presented for FSX.
This is an update to my original review, where I assigned a one star due to performance issues. The developer has been working with a number of customers to iron out problems. He has been altering and removing files for our testing, and my performance has increased to where I expect an addon airport to be. I'm upgrading my review to three stars for now, and may up it again once I apply the final update. The developer is very focused on customer satisfaction, and I believe this will be a good solid airport very soon.
In my first review, I gave this product a 1 star because the FPS issues made the product unusable. For the last couple of days, the developer worked with me quickly to find the issue. After he sent me fix after fix, the scenery finally was smooth, 40 - 60 FPS! The scenery looks great, the textures look great, and now, the airport is smooth. The developer has advised me he will be posting an update very soon for everyone to take advantage of the fix. This is now a must buy!
