FSUIPC6: Flight Simulator Universal Inter-Process Communication (for Prepar3D V4 & V5 only)

FSUIPC6 is an add-in for Prepar3D Versions 4 & 5 which provides an interface for other programs to read and write all sorts of pertinent data relating to the simulation, and in many ways even to control the actual process itself.

It is an essential ingredient in many add-on FS programs, and, in fact, may be installed on your system by any one or more of them already. For most such programs you do not need to actually purchase FSUIPC6. That deal, for their access, will often have been already done by the add-on program makers.

But, in addition, FSUIPC6 contains a number of useful features for you, the Flight Simulator user, features that can assist you setting up the best simulation environment and making the best of what you have. It can do this because, by its very nature as an interface program, as a “puller of wires and pusher of switches” on behalf of external applications, it is also in the best position to help you do the same.

To use these additional features you need to register your copy of FSUIPC6 here and obtain an Access Key, which will unlock them.

Facilities provided to the Registered User of FSUIPC include:

Joystick control facilities:

  • Facilities for joystick calibration – specifically, more accurate setting of dead zones and centres.
  • Joystick mapping for multi-engined aircraft throttles
  • Facilities for reverse thrust adjustment on each throttle, or via a separate reverser,
  • Joystick button programming, for any Flight Sim control, including those not available in FS’s own assignment menu.
  • Joystick buttons can also be made to produce key-presses, for instance when this is the only way to control an add-on aircraft panel or other accessory.
  • Joystick button assignments for Project Magenta controls, and for Roger Wilco’s PTT action.
  • Joystick button assignments for use by WideFS clients on Networked PCs.
  • All button assignments programmable separately for press and release
  • Facilities for analogue flap and spoiler setting, with detentes.
  • Facilities for analogue elevator, rudder and aileron trim setting.
  • PFC COM-port connected devices, operating through my PFCcom64.dll driver, can also have their switches and buttons programmed using the same facilities.
  • Capabilities for all of these things to be specific to an aircraft, automatically changing when you change aircraft.

Direct axis assignments

  • Facilities for asignment of any Windows API (not DirectInput) joystick axis to any FS axis control, or sequences of other controls dependent upon axis range and direction of change.
  • Axes can be read as Windows Game controler calibrated values, or direct as ‘Raw’ values for setting specific values.
  • Capabilities for these things to be specific to an aircraft, automatically changing when you change aircraft.

Key press programming facilities:

  • Key-press programming, for any Flight Sim control, including those not available in FS’s own assignments dialogues.
  • FS controls can be sent with fixed parameter, for use in setting specific analogue values.
  • Key-press combinations including TAB, MENU and WIN as extra shifts, for many more assignment possibilities.
  • Key-press assignments for Project Magenta controls, and for Roger Wilco’s PTT action.
  • Key-press assignments for use by WideFS7 clients on Networked PCs
  • All key-press operations programmable separately for press and release, and for specific aircraft or general.

Other features:

  • A page of special Hot Key programmable functions for some special FSUIPC6 actions  such as setting STD altimeter,
  • switching throttle sync on and off, and hiding/viewing the FS message window.
  • an intelligent AI Traffic Limiting option, so that the slider can be higher for more variety but without excessive traffic affecting performance

This scenery of Kahului in MAUI is absolutely stunning, amazing, fantastic and lifelike. I would rate it five starts PLUS. All details are there, even all over the areas inside the terminal complex - and I know about it because I had the luck to see this airport several times in reality. It is a dream that became true to have this wonderful airport with absolutely ALOHA-spirit in such a great simulation. The other Hawaiian airports of Northern Sky Studio have the same stunning quality!!! H-

Definitely a solid scenery. So happy they updated to be natively compatible with P3D V5. Stellar work for sure, and well worth the asking price.

Should be 2.5 stars, but better to round up. The same small windows texture is used over and over and over on the terminal building, giving it a B grade, freeware feel. They even recycled billboards from a Caribbean airport, big ones that are hard to miss. The airport is basically okay, with nothing special. If you can get it on sale, I'd even recommend it, since we don't have a lot to choose from in the area.

Ground markings and parkings are accurate and overall an improvement to vanilla FAOR. The models are sub-standard and not what one would expect from MSFS 2020 scenery. Buildings are sparse and alot of detail is missing. Texturing looks more like it belongs in FSX. Although an improvement to the stock airport, I would definitely not recommend this product if your into detail and accuracy. It is however, FPS friendly due to its simplicity.

I am the developer of this Morane, and I confirm that the sounds of the engine of this plane are indeed sounds coming from the Hispano-Suiza, and not from a Rolls-Royce Merlin of the Spifire, as claimed by Oliver in his comment. These sounds have been entirely realized with the Wwise application, as proposed by Asobo in the MSFS! Greeting-
