Having a great appreciation for the Constellation and experiencing the A2A version for years in FSX I was excited to see another developer have a go at it. There are some really amazing aspects to this aircraft but also some shortcomings. While most textures are excellent there are some that have been seemingly purposefully left much less detailed. These are nearly all in the areas behind the cockpit and I imagine it’s got to be an effort to keep the overall file size as minimal as possible. However despite the low rez cabin areas the cockpit is not bad at all. It just has a very worn and aged look which makes sense. The materials of the time called for a more utilitarian and function design and it fits in. The external textures are really quite nice with very few areas that seem less snazzy. The flight characteristics have a very believable feel overall. Having never flown the real thing or even seeing one up close I can only vouch for the model so far. To me and based on past simulation experiences I feel very good about this one. The extra help you can get with running through all checklists in detail at the click of a virtual button is nice to have when I don’t feel like doing everything myself, but the checklist are available for just that. Also these helping hands come with voice recordings that give a nice feeling of being in a complete crew communicating effectively while you the pilot concentrate on the flying. Much like how it must have been in the real world. Obviously the pilot didn’t do everything single thing his or herself. It’s a very immersive experience unlike any other add on so far. You can have failures on demand or set up for later in flight or also just experience the normal operations and wear and tear that comes along with occasional failures at random a without warning. It makes for a very customizable experience. Personally I like being the pilot with letting the crew do their jobs and fly the aircraft as I think it might have been like based on the procedures and engineering of the day. Things might go wrong but I set it so they mostly won’t unless I abuse the aircraft or neglect certain maintenance needs. The only complaint I have is the sounds of the engines as they run through throttle movements. They are too obviously done in clips of various RPM recordings that aren’t merged terribly well. Not to say they are bad, just need some work smoothing out transitions. Overall I think this plane got a bad rap early on and sadly seems to have stuck but is not currently deserved. It’s very good, maybe not perfect but definitely better than the early reviews would have you believe. Today it’s one of my favorites and should be in more virtual hangars. I’m glad I got it on sale, but knowing what I do now I feel like it is worth the asking price even with the low end cabin textures. I think that’s forgivable and probably saved a gig or two in install size. It’s quite nice where it matters and loaded with real cool features and extras.

Je possède cet add-on depuis sa sortie, après une période de développement un peu compliqué (early access), à partir de la version 2.0 et 2.1, on avait quelque chose qui commençait à être globalement abouti. Malheureusement le développement de cet avion est à l’image de MSFS : une base moyenne sur laquelle on ajoute (on bourre) des mises à jour moyennes (avec leurs lots de problèmes supplémentaires). Je viens de tester la version 2.4 et c’est du grand n’importe quoi : plus rien ne fonctionne, on se retrouve bloqué au sol sans pouvoir bouger, votre équipage ne vous obéit pas, gère mal la puissance, la route ou la montée (pourtant ça fonctionnait avant), pire il peut provoquer des accidents dans certains cas. Il n'y a toujours pas de verrouillage de la manette des gaz lorsqu’elle est gérée par l’IA (à l’inverse de PMDG) donc ça entre en conflit avec mon joystick ce qui peut là aussi provoquer de gros problèmes en vol. J’ai longtemps cru qu’on aurait un Super Constellation digne de ce nom sur MSFS, je me suis trompé et je regrette profondément mon achat aujourd’hui. Cet avion est hors de prix, pour la même somme achetez le DC-6 de PMDG qui est parfaitement modélisé.

Hi! You can start it (manually or by IA), but It doesn't move and still stuck on the ground. You can't even taxiing... Many people complain on the Net about this issue. Very expensive payware for a "static museum aircraft you only can start"!

I am fine to support new developers and know what early access means. But things get frustating when there are heavy and clearly visible new bugs with each update. In 2.1 was everything fine, except for the airspeed indicator and stall behaviour. Now in 2.2 I can´t use easy mode any more, cabin is empty and there are no passengers in TWA and MATS config for me. Best thing is: If you name these issues and ask if there is maybe something wrong with the update or the installatio you get timed out from their support discord server! Don´t buy!!! I will ask for a refund since they are not able to give support for their product!

I've loved it from the first day I got it ; two months ago. Worth the price and reflects a lot of dedicated manhours. After FS last major update; the tail surfaces show damage that used to show up if overstressed. Is this going to be fixed anytime soon?

Les points forts : - Enfin un Super-Constellation pour MSFS - La 3D et les livrées sont bien réalisées - Fonctionnement avancé des systèmes de l'avion - Le poste ingénieur de vol est parfaitement fonctionnel (à l'exception de quelques options pas encore implémentées) et est indispensable pour le déroulement du vol - Gestion correcte des check-lists par l'IA - Super effet des lumières du cockpit en particulier de nuit Les points à améliorer : - Il faut faciliter la gestion du centre de gravité notamment pour les débutants - Le manuel n'est pas assez détaillé : les instruments et les boutons sont très bien décris mais avoir seulement 2 pages pour les procédures de vol c'est bien trop maigre. J'aimerai bien connaître comment faire le crossfeed pour le carburant : le manuel explique, avec un schéma, le système de carburant mais rien quant à la mise en application. Les check-lists bruts ça ne m'aide pas. - Fonctionnement étrange du conservateur de cap en mode asservissement (slaved) - Physique un peu étrange : le décollage et la montée demande une très grande concentration et une gestion fine de la vitesse et du taux de montée à l'inverse l'atterrissage est vraiment facile même avec une vitesse élevée - Certaines textures du cockpit pourraient être mieux détaillées - En mode « atterissage automatique » (géré par l’IA), l’IA oublie parfois de rentrer ou sortir le train d’atterrissage. Les points négatifs : - Gestion étrange de la manette des gaz par l'IA : j'ai l'impression que ma manette des gaz et l'IA entrent en conflit ; la manette des gaz n'est pas "débrayée" lorsqu'elle est gérée par l'IA contrairement au DC-6 de PMDG - Manuel d’utilisateur non mis à jour pour la version 2.1 - Le prix est trop élevé (pour la version 2.1) Conclusion : Il y a eu beaucoup de travail sur cet avion, j'attends quand même les prochaines mises à jour mais il y a du potentiel. Dans l'état actuel (2.1) je ne le conseille pas aux débutants car l'avion est vraiment exigeant à piloter. C'est difficile de recommander cet avion dans l'état actuel mais j'espère qu'il sera régulièrement mis à jour car il a un gros potentiel pour devenir, j'espère, un incontournable pour MSFS.

同为四发螺旋桨客机，相比PDMG的DC6我觉着整体质量还是比较接近的。这款机模操控性较为不错；内舱质感略逊于DC6；复古的EFB比较方便；各类语音提示比较齐全；搭配涂装还做了两套内舱；导航可用750导航。但是为啥只给三星呢？因为当你启动发动机后会有个尾气烟雾特效，优化非常不好，掉帧到个位数，直到飞起来后对显卡占用都会高于其他机模。

Zum Positiven: Das Ding ist hübsch und es werden sicher noch viele Funktionen hinzugefügt werden Zum Negativen: Nichts ist wirklich fertig, der Flieger macht was er will hier alles aufzuschreiben was nicht funktioniert dauert mir einfach zu lange. Unterm Stich ist die Constellation noch im Betastadium. Dafür ist sie aber recht teuer. Ich werde noch das ein oder andere Update abwarten, bevor ich sie noch einmal starte. In der Zwischenzeit vertreibe ich mir die Zeit mit der wunderschönen DC-6 von PMDG.
