PONGRATZ PAGEL - LGLE LEROS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MSFS

PONGRATZ PAGEL - LGLE LEROS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT MSFS

The exceptionally beautiful buildings modelled in this scenery show that the developer does have great talent, a lovely first scenery release... in some areas. Unfortunately the scenery is a bit lacking in others: - Runway textures/markings/lights are default only and do not match with the real runway, with some odd transitions visible for the custom turn pads at both runway ends. - TWY Edge lights seem to be missing - While the boat storage areas are modelled very nicely, none of the mooring areas at the shore are modelled, it's all blurry textures only. Being so close to the runway it would have been nice to have these modelled in 3D. With a bit of work for the runway and the surroundings this could be a very nice little airport. Buildings are fantastic already, it just needs a better runway and some more marine infrastructure immediately adjacent to the airport.

JUSTSIM - NICE COTE D'AZUR AIRPORT-NG SERIES MSFS

JUSTSIM - NICE COTE D'AZUR AIRPORT-NG SERIES MSFS

I'll make this short and to the point: This new "NG Series" release is indeed surprisingly good and there is a lot to like! You can see some old material here and there, like odd perspective interior textures during the night, but these are well compensated by the new material, and in some places modelling detail is truly brilliant! I did see some LOD issues where when moving closer to some terminal buildings you suddenly see large chunks of bright building parts popping in, something that could well be optimised a bit. And then there's this bit of sloppy texturing I can still not understand why it still exists, but drags my rating way way down. So here we are, this new NG Series, and Juststim STILL uses this extremely ugly and unrealistic runway texture they have been using on every single runway they ever did since the FSX days; These lumps of black looking like someone spilled crude oil onto the runway, when in fact it is supposed to be tyre marks around the touchdown zone. No matter how the real runway looks, Justsim always uses this hideous decades-old texture for tyre marks. Why? Why can't they just do tyre marks like they appear on a real airport, like all their competitors do? What's making matters worse here is that the black texture has a white outline to it, making the scene look even more out of place and unrealistic. I just don't understand this. Why ruin an otherwise good scenery with this piece of sloppy work, even on this supposedly next-level effort product series? I'm done with this. Give us real runway textures and I'll be VERY happy to revise my review rating. But for now, this is not something I can support nor recommend.

INIBUILDS - INIBUILDS ZAYED INTERNATIONAL OMAA MSFS

INIBUILDS - INIBUILDS ZAYED INTERNATIONAL OMAA MSFS

The scenery greets you with the usual mostly very good building modelling and texturing ini is famous for, texture colours seem quite authentic, and the night lighting is done very well. And this time ini also did a good job with ground texturing. Unfortunately they stopped shortly before delivering a very good solid release: - The runway textures are just not authentic. The real runways have a darker paved middle strip. To simulate this, ini simply put heavy very repetitive tyre marks all along the complete runway, while the darker pavement bits are missing. That is just not realistic looking. - All taxiway signs at night are completely covered in self-illuminated red all around, except at the lit-up area. So they look extremely unrealistic in the dark. - There are numerous flat buildings visible all over the scenery. Some are smaller service buildings, some are next to aprons (with half transparent textures over them), and the worst part is behind the new terminal, with one huge area and a covered parking facility being all flat, and unfortunately both areas are visible very well when landing on runways 13R and 13L. The completely flat vegetation landside of the new terminal doesn't help things either. - The Jetways of Terminal 3 must have been taken from somewhere else, because they are way too big. Most of these stands you can't use because the retracted jetways block the stand. - And there's this smaller issue but quite annoying; The red rotating beacons on many jetways are lit up and rotate all the time, even when the jetways are stationary. The lights simply never turn off. So you park and you see this rotating red light effect glow going on outside all the time, that is rather annoying unfortunately. - Perimeter fences in some areas simply stop when they shouldn't, however most of the time fencing is done quite nicely.  In short: Potential for a solid release! But it is in dire need of better runway textures and proper night-time taxiway signs. And it needs to be filled with many missing 3D buildings/objects, especially in the area of the new terminal. It's just not nice to see flat buildings when looking out of the cockpit while landing, taxiing or parking. Can I recommend getting it? Yes. Does ini need to put in some additional work? Also yes.

ACO DESIGN STUDIO - RCTP TAIWAN TAOYUAN INTL AIRPORT MSFS

While there is plenty of good things to find with this scenery, like nice and careful modelling and texturing in many places, there is some points that leave me disappointed. Pricing an airport at this very high level, it needs to get compared to the best in the business, and there's where it falls short: - Default Asobo jetways have been used. That's a no-go at this price point. - The runway textures/markings do not match the real airport and seem to include many default texture elements. And when you see heavy touchdown tyre marks placed way before the displaced threshold it just feels rushed. - No VDGS included, though they do provide a GSX profile to use. But at this price point people should not pay extra for VDGS. But speaking of GSX: There is such a thing as too many ground support vehicles. Every single gate is completely filled up with static vehicles, leaving virtually no room to realistically place GSX vehicles. - Night textures feel artificial; The ATC tower features bright flood lighting inside at night, which is obviously completely unrealistic. Also, all those buildings without interior modelling are textured with every single window brightly lit up, making the scene appear quite artificial.  If you need to fly to Taiwan then this airport can still be recommended to get. But the high price vs. quality just can't compare to many competitors. While things like the main terminal roof modelling are very impressive, other parts feel generic and not thought out well. The premium price should result in a premium scenery, which this, sadly, is not.

FLYING PARTNERS SLOVAKIA - LKPD PARDUBICE AIRPORT V1.0 MSFS

Wonderful rendition of this interesting airport, being part military and part civil. Wonderful attention to detail on the entire airfield, superb military static aircraft, no flat objects anywhere, the approach lighting is placed accurately, really well done. I don't mind there being no internal modelling for the terminal, since it doesn't feature large glass fronts. However, the night lighting textures on these windows are EXTREMELY bright and blinding, should be toned down substantially to make the night scene more realistic.  And one other small issue is that the distance for rendering some flood lighting outside the shelters seems to be set too short resulting in light effects popping up in front of you when moving closer. And perhaps the Simmarket installer can be used in the future? But other than that it's really all very nice! If you want to fly to Eastern Europe on an interesting airport, this one comes highly recommended!

VERTICALSIM - KPVU - PROVO MUNICIPAL MSFS

Verticalsim's best scenery yet! Lovely modelling with lots of detail paired with great quality textures, the entire airport is really well done, more remote areas are still represented with detail so the developer didn't simply focus on the main terminal, which is fantastic by the way.  This time there's no flat objects near aircraft movement areas, it is all in 3D even in remote areas of the airport. They even did the large trailer/truck storage facility to the north all in 3D, looks fantastic on approach. Parallax effect was used for buildings close to aircraft movement areas, but it was done carefully and only in places with relatively small windows and then featuring nicely dim night lighting, so it doesn't disturb immersion at all. Highly recommended if you want to fly in a beautiful region on a smaller but diverse airport.

MK STUDIOS - PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT KPHL MSFS

MK STUDIOS - PHILADELPHIA AIRPORT KPHL MSFS

Solid work by MK in many places throughout the airport and good performance. I like the amount of detail at most terminal buildings with simple yet good looking interior modelling. However, there are some bugs and a questionable design decision: - The tank farm modelled changes size as you get closer to it - The overall night lighting is very pleasant. However, two large buildings behind a cargo terminal feature extreme bright white lighting that looks extremely unrealistic and does not fit the rest of the scenery at all. And once you move closer to these buildings the lighting disappears completely.  - While most terminal buildings have the perfect amount of interior modelling, the building to the side of the main apron features parallax interior only which just looks awful. Parallax is fine for distant objects, but not in places where you park your aircraft directly in front of the parallax effect. I wish developers would stop doing that. And here MK has done a superb job with interiors in most other parts, so why ruin the immersion with that very noticeable usage of parallax? It's OK during the day but looks terrible at night. Opaque windows would have been the better choice really, since there's plenty to enjoy at the properly modelled terminal buildings.  If it were not for the bugs and the bad usage of parallax, this could easily have a higher rating. I can still recommend for people to get this scenery, but I hope MK will do an update one day.

FLIGHTBEAM STUDIOS - KMSP - MINNEAPOLIS INTL AIRPORT MSFS

FLIGHTBEAM STUDIOS - KMSP - MINNEAPOLIS INTL AIRPORT MSFS

There's plenty of fantastic Flightbeam work present at this scenery. The main terminal area is modelled beautifully both for buildings and ground features and textures.  And overall the ground textures are done very well, including fantastic runway textures. Unfortunately the scenery disappoints heavily away from the main terminal complex: - No 3D glideslope or localiser antennas  - Flat objects visible on the aerial imagery throughout the airport. Small service buildings, cars, trucks, there's plenty of flat stuff next to parking aprons or taxiways. And a large museum area is all flat as well, resulting in large flat aircraft visible right next to an apron area. - Flat aircraft tails sticking out from under a maintenance hangar apron. These should have been covered with a grass texture! - All tunnels and ramps are flat, with the exception of the one at the main terminal. Many of those route beneath taxiways and are thus visible extremely well when taxiing by. - Performance seems OK for an airport this size, however I do experience more stutters compared to others.  Overall I feel this airport has been rushed and is not presented in Flightbeam quality and care. You get this brilliant main terminal combined with disappointment almost everywhere else. This many flat objects and structures right next to taxiways and aprons is just not good enough. Competitors have shown that you can do a large airport with 3D detail everywhere and not just in one area, while still getting a good performance.  I hope Flightbeam can improve here to have a consistent level of quality throughout the airport.

INIBUILDS - INIBUILDS NEW YORK JFK - KJFK MSFS

While the modelling quality of the buildings is very good and certainly deserves a higher rating, there's many things elsewhere just not as good as it could be and clearly behind the competition. A good airport scenery should be more than just nice and detailed buildings. - ini chose to not use custom aerial imagery for the ground, instead patching over many areas using a generic texture, and the end result doesn't look very good. - While the airport is full of ground clutter in most places, there are areas where no 3D assets are placed and we see flat trucks, cars, containers, buildings and bushes. I don't mind this being the case in remote areas, but we see it next to some taxiways, runways and parking stands, the worst of it visible around the beginning of RWY22R - Performance is not terrible, but not great either. Some of ini's choices don't help here: There is an insane amount of ground support vehicles placed throughout. Use half the amount and it would still look great. There's so many, right now you have a hard time using GSX for your own aircraft without interfering with static vehicles. - Terminal interior modelling is very inconsistent. It is amazingly detailed in some areas, including some you can't see from your aircraft, and then extremely basic in others, so you end up parking your aircraft and looking at flat 2D texture seats. I would have preferred for ini to use less detail where it's not necessary, to then be able to avoid showing gates with flat texture interiors. Or at the very least, opaque windows should have been used there. - While night lighting is good generally, I wish the taxiway lighting would have been done with a bit more care. You see default green centreline lights with their usual uneven and overdone placement in many areas. Also, runway exit centreline lights have been done omni-directional instead of them being visible from a single direction. And last but not least: While it's unfortunate that people buying here can't use the iniManager, why would you state so in the text, only to then list the manager as a feature further down? To summarise: Good job on most of the buildings, but the competition has shown that things can be done better in all other areas. ini does have the skills to do better, but their "lets build large airports in a minimum amount of time to release first" mentality clearly shows.

The latest update has improved the product considerably and the night lighting is so much better now. Sadly no testing seems to have been done prior release, because now we get the stock aerodrome beacon flashing effect, hovering above the apron. It's extremely bright and blinding when parking at night and needs to be removed.

MLD SCENERY - LRTR - TIMISOARA INTL AIRPORT MSFS

So well done in many places, with detailed modelling throughout including military infrastructure.  The major issues of this scenery are only visible in dusk / dawn and at night; One smaller passenger terminal building received a 3D interior, unfortunately it's not the one right next to the main parking area at the terminal building. That large terminal building features parallax interiors only which just looks awful at night because it's right in front of parked aircraft. Parallax is simply not meant to be used in buildings placed right next to aircraft stands and aprons. Because close up these parallax effects are always wrong, no matter the angle they are looked at. I understand if developers don't want to do 3D interiors all around. But right next to parking stands, parallax is simply not an option. Opaque windows with some subtle dim night lighting would have been preferable, at least those look believable. Opaque windows exist in reality, skewed rooms do not. Also, I wish developers would stop texturing ATC tower windows like lighthouses at night.

Short and simple: Some nice and solid work by MK. Not at the latest standards of MSFS modelling, but not bad either. So I'd love to give it 4 stars.  But both glideslope antennas facing the wrong way (90° offset), this really should have been caught in testing and thus should have been corrected long ago.

PILOT EXPERIENCE SIM - BREST LFRB MSFS

This scenery shows some solid work with crisp and detailed modelling and a nice integration into the surrounding area with no flat objects visible. However, several errors are present which should just not be there, also considering the rather high price of the product: - Approach lighting and TDZ lights are visible from the opposite side of the runway instead of being omni-directional - The green tint on the main terminal building glass front looks good at night and dusk/dawn. But comparisons to the real airport show that the colour of the glass tint should be blue/green, but here it's a very saturated pure green during daytime that is just not realistic. - The stop bar on the main taxiway features a large row of green lights which do not exist in reality. Green lights IRL are obviously reserved for taxiway centrelines. - Instead of placing a glideslope antenna the developers used a stock communications tower. - The perimeter fence is completely missing - A select few buildings next to the main terminal feature extremely bright 2D night lighting which kind of ruins the otherwise pleasing night lighting. 2 minor items: - The red paint beneath the jetways is way oversaturated and looks very unrealistic and distracting when parking next to it - The installer used here is quite dated and doesn't find the community folder automatically. There's good potential here but the airport needs additional work. If the major items mentioned above were resolved I could certainly give it 4 stars.

UK2000 SCENERY - HENDERSON EXECUTIVE AIRPORT MSFS

Very good airport delivering a wonderful feeling of a busy general aviation / executive airport. Good textures and colours with nice and detailed modelling. But... that parallax effect used on some terminal buildings... it's meant to be used for distant objects, not something right next to parking spots! It's bearable during daytime, but looks painful at night. The texture used for the parallax effect is all stretched and skewed and blurry and always out of place when seen up close, and it is VERY bright so you can't ignore it. Please don't use this effect on buildings right next to parking aprons. Do proper 3D interiors or opaque windows, but not this, because it looks wrong from any direction. Fine for distant objects, but not for apron buildings. Other than that I can recommend the scenery, there's some beautiful modelling to be seen in most places!

MSK PRODUCTIONS - VABB MUMBAI AIRPORT MSFS

Good effort by MSK for this large airport. I see a lot of good modelling throughout, and they have done some very good and careful work for the ground and terrain. However, 2 issues drag my rating down: - While the dev has done some good effort to integrate the airport into its surroundings, there are just too many flat buildings and structures on the aerial imagery visible around the airport. Amongst many others there is one large area with a sewage treatment plant right next to a runway, all flat. I wish there would have been at least some stock objects placed to fill such gaps. - While many buildings have good detail and textures, many others only have very low-res texturing with bits and pieces represented flat in blurry textures instead of crisp 3D. That is far below the capabilities of MSFS and should not be the case in places that can be seen from a parking spot or taxiway. All in all a solid effort by MSK, but not yet at a level that is comparable to some of the competitors. As such I feel the price is a bit on the high side.

This scenery is amazing really. What is truly fantastic is that while this airport is surrounded by clutter, it is ALL 3D, you won't see anything flat on the ground texture like with so many other developers, so this is extremely well done and makes for perfect immersion. There are however a few items that should be looked at for an update: - PLEASE switch off the flood lighting inside the ATC tower during darkness, this looks extremely silly and unrealistic. How are the poor guys supposed to do ATC in there?!  - The terminal interior, while very well done, shows some texture flickering in a select few spots during night time. - All yellow ground markings look a bit off, too much orange shade instead of ICAO-like yellow. Also one can see various shades of orange/yellow instead of a uniform yellow like ICAO standards suggest. And the big fat RUNWAY AHEAD marking needs some work: Looks odd for the letters to be outlined in red when photos clearly show that this is supposed to be a (tight) red box beneath the lettres.  - I'd wish for the glass effect to be a bit more visible during daytime. Almost looks as if there's no glass installed on the tower and the terminal. - And last but not least, there's a guy marshalling a parked(!) Jaguar only to be reset after a few seconds and loop forever. Looks pretty silly and should simply get deleted. In any case, this scenery comes highly recommended for it's fantastic immersion and careful modelling. With an update this can easily be five stars.

Very good release in a region where there's so little quality scenery available!  The modelling is detailed and textures are crisp, a lot of care has been given to integrate the airport into its surroundings, well done! If I could wish for one area of improvement it would be for the runway- and apron textures to be a bit more life-like and less sterile looking, with more imperfections added to the concrete and markings. One of the best if not the best developer right now for the African continent. We need more of this!

LISIUM - EYPA - PALANGA MSFS

LISIUM - EYPA - PALANGA MSFS

With only a little bit more care, this could be a five star product. The terminal building has been modelled very well indeed, and its surroundings have been done quite nice as well. There are a few issues that I think should just not be there for a rather expensive (relative to the airport size) scenery: - Approach lights are all default and do not match the aerial imagery beneath. And on the northern end its very obvious that it is also the wrong type of approach lights. - At the southern airport perimeter right beneath the final approach we see a very rough terrain cut with jagged edges that looks extremely artificial and does not correspond at all to the real situation. Some terrain mesh work and Autogen placement would be needed here, right now it kind of destroys the immersion on approach from the south. - The glide slope antenna is missing, even though it is well visible on the aerial imagery used. It's unfortunate that not even a stock object was placed there. Also the location of the PAPI lights is a bit offset to the aerial imagery below. These things are not at all impossible to correct. Terrain anomalies on short final and the wrong approach light config, those things should not be in a final product. Especially not at this price level. So an update would be very much welcomed.

Good first effort, the buildings are modelled and textured nicely, so there is talent visible! Unfortunately my installation shows one large ground texture to be missing, and there is way too many areas on the aerial imagery that shows flat trees and bushes right next to runways, aprons or taxiways, needs Autogen vegetation in all these areas. And maybe the apron could be modelled with a bit of clutter? It's almost completely empty, as if no one ever works on this airfield. Hope there can be an update at some point.

AG SIM - BURGAS AIRPORT LBBG MSFS

There's plenty of very good modelling and texturing in this scenery, like detailed buildings all over the place or crisp and realistic looking ground textures. However, some bugs present do impact the usability of this scenery that need urgent attention: - Of the 4 windsocks placed, only 1 is showing proper wind direction! The others are oriented randomly. - The AI aircraft parking stands have not been placed properly either. Testing with FSLTL and AIG aircraft, most of them are nowhere near their stop lines, making it impossible to pass behind on the taxiway in certain cases. Some other items where AG Sim should have been a bit more careful in my opinion: - The wrong type of antenna was used for the glideslope antenna. Also a adjacent support building is missing completely. - The real airport features a massive localiser antenna structure which is also missing in the scenery. - I spotted double yellow ground markings and double blue edge lights in a few places. - And lastly a cosmetic item: While the apron textures are done very nicely, the rubber marks laid on top of them are rather generic and unrealistic looking across the entire airport.  All but the last issue should be fixed as soon as possible. It looks like there was no testing done before release. A pity since there's plenty of very good work present here.

V1 STUDIO - SBPC - POÇOS DE CALDAS MSFS

This small airport has been modelled amazingly beautiful. The modelling of the buildings is stunning, the textures, also on the aprons and the runway, is fantastic. Ground imagery is crisp within the airport area, and where it is not high resolution outside things have been covered with 3D assets. Easily 5 stars! If only... the western part of the airport would have been done with the same love and care. Unfortunately the western half does not show the same careful ground modelling and is almost completely empty and flat. There's many places inside the airport perimeter where you can see flat trees and bushes on the aerial imagery, missing autogen vegetation, also close to the runway. This is especially noticable since there's not much else in this area and the result is a bit artifical looking, in stark contrast to the excellent care for the eastern part of the airport. This should be easy to correct for the developer. Place trees and bushes on the airport area wherever it is visible on the aerial photo. Once that is done this will be very solid five stars.

PAULO RICARDO - VIRACOPOS - SBKP MSFS

PAULO RICARDO - VIRACOPOS - SBKP MSFS

This is hands down the best airport scenery for the South America continent at the time of writing. Detailed and beautiful modelling, crisp and natural looking textures on buildings and on the ground, and the developer has taken extra care of the surroundings; Custom approach light modelling, extensive placement of vegetation and clutter all around the airport, these are just two things that many developers don't do, even on smaller airports than this.  Construction areas received 3D assets, and it's a real joy to park your cargo aircraft and look into the beautifully made cargo building from the cockpit. Also the night lighting is done very well, colour and brightness is very realistic throughout.  Anything that could have been done better? I would have loved to see custom animated ground vehicle traffic, something that I find just belongs to a large airport.  Also, the airport fencing, while done very nicely in many places, has a lot of large gaps all around the airport. This would have spiced up the surroundings just that tiny bit more. But it's a very minor thing really, since the fence is quite a bit away from the taxiways on this airport. A truly stunning scenery, very well done. I highly recommend getting this, a must have for any collection.

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - EETN TALLINN MSFS

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - EETN TALLINN MSFS

Good modelling effort and all nicely integrated into its surroundings, this is a nice rendition of Tallinn Airport. The biggest issue for me: It's priced very premium for its size, and at such a high price it should have had VDGS included. It does not. You need to own GSX and then you need to find a profile for it on your own. That's not good enough for such a high price. At least DD was kind enough to make the dummy VDGS optional during install, so they don't disturb the GSX units placed there. Some more smaller issues: - The apron textures and ground markings around the main terminal building do look somewhat cartoonish without any weathering. And some bits of it are very low-res and blurred, such as the aircraft type stop markings at all gates. - Night-lighting at the main terminal building is a bit overdone and too bright in places, inside and outside. - Not much effort has been given to airline gate assignments. Many full-fare airlines park far away from the main terminal, such as SWR or DLH, and even some Air Baltic, while Ryanair parks at a jetway position (tested using FSLTL). At this price level, I expect realistic airline gate assignments for AI aircraft. So it's a good effort by DD and I can recommend getting the airport, but compared to some of the competition it is priced too high for what is offered.

MK STUDIOS - DUBLIN V2 MSFS

MK STUDIOS - DUBLIN V2 MSFS

This new version is a decent effort by MK to bring us a modern-day MSFS airport add-on for Dublin. I see some very good modelling in many places, the amount of details seems just fine for the most part. Price is good and it's great to get VDGS included. What drags the rating down for me are 2 issues: 1. In too many places there's low-res ground textures visible next to runways or taxiways. These blurry parts then show service roads, small structures or other clutter. These areas take away from the crisp and detailed areas in most other places. Blurry stuff on the aerial imagery should have either been taken out manually (they do advertise a hand-corrected photo texture) or 3D models should have been placed on top. Some parts are so low-res you can see individual pixels of whatever blurred object being depicted all flat, especially around the new runway. 2. Dublin Airport is surrounded by a stupendous amount of car parkings to the south and east. The problem is that MK have treated these with very different levels of quality. Some car parks are covered with a half-transparent texture with 3D cars placed on top, others have no such texture on top but still some 3D cars are placed on top the blurred flat ones, and other parts only have the half-transparent texture overlaid but with no 3D car at all. So in the end you overfly blurry flat cars or empty half-transparent flat cars on final, or you see some 3D stuff placed on blurred flat cars. It just looks very artificial on all of them and very inconsistent in quality. So with car parks being such an integral part of the scene, why didn't MK just make decent car park textures themselves, remove the flat cars, weather the texture, apply markings, and then place a few of their 3D cars on top of it all? That would have looked much more elegant than the inconsistent low-res flat mess in place right now. Still, it's quite a bit better than MK's Cork scenery. so If you want to fly to Ireland, this is the airport to get.

The feature list says "authentic replica". Unfortunately the runway markings are default, not those of the real airfield. I wouldn't call that authentic. Added to that the landing T on the signal square is static only, so it will happily indicate the wrong landing direction when windsock point in the opposite direction. And unfortunately the developer hasn't made any effort to place grass runway markings that can be seen from a bit further out such as would be the case in reality. You only get the blurred ones part of the base aerial imagery. Granted, there is some decent modelling to be found and the price is low. But the items mentioned above still make this a low effort job I cannot recommend. I wish Stairport would finally start to up their game and produce sceneries that are more accurate and feature rich.

Pricey for an airport of this size, this scenery features a well modelled main terminal and surrounding area. Well done on that. Unfortunately, the rest of the airport is far from this level of quality. You'll see low res aerial imagery right next to all secondary aprons, most of them showing flat cars and objects, clearly visible from nearby aircraft parking spots. Unfortunately, none of these areas are shown on the product page. So parts of the airport feel very much rushed. There's a construction site next to one apron that is completely flat, featuring only a perimeter fence running over a flat truck. Then there is another big construction site featuring some buildings and equipment and materials, however the mounds placed do not match the colour of the base imagery, so it has a very artificial feel to it. Complemented by 3D objects hovering over the ground. Also the airport perimeter fence is hovering in the air in most areas I've checked. And then you can also spot the dreadful default airport beacon tower with it's overly bright light during daytime. So you get a very well modelled main terminal complex supplemented by mediocre rushed modelling everywhere else. There's competitors providing airports with a consistently high quality in all areas for less money but bigger airports. So I feel this is not a good value for money. T2G need to step up their game if they want to shine in MSFS and sell at these prices.

This scenery offers some stunning hangars located on this airfield. They are textured with high quality, crisp textures and high modelling fidelity. However, there's so much more required for a good airport scenery that is unfortunately missing in this scenery: - On both sides of the runway, right next to the threshold, there are larger areas with flat buildings. They are so close to your landing point that you can't avoid seeing these while on short final. I'm not saying that all these buildings need to be modelled after their real counterparts, autogen buildings are stock assets would be perfectly fine as they're outside of the airfield perimeter. However, landing over and next to flat buildings and objects is just not good enough, especially not at this price point. There are also plenty of flat objects visible right behind the hangars. Many competitors do a far better job at this and for less money. Spinoza needs to put in a lot more effort if sceneries are to be sold at this price point. - Default aerial imagery is used as a base for this scenery. So you'll see plenty of areas where flat objects on the airfield have been patched over using generic grass textures which stand out quite clearly. - White cones are used to model the runway area. However, their LOD visibility is way off, making them invisible when on final. They only pop up on very short final. - The signal square landing T is not modelled. The price vs. size of this airfield is on the very upper end of the spectrum. And for that money what you get is just not good enough for a proper airport scenery. While the hangars are fantastic, all that has to do with the ground is either low quality or missing. No Landing T, default windsock, invisible runway markings, flat objects everywhere, generic grass textures... and while the hangars are nice, they are all closed. Other developers tend to open one or two with inside modelling to provide some atmosphere for a small airfield. All missing in this scenery. For these reasons I cannot recommend buying this airfield.

V1 STUDIO - SBBW - BARRA DO GARÇAS MSFS

What a wonderful little gem of airport this is, the modelling detail and texturing quality is absolutely fantastic, top class! Nicely weathered textures throughout combined with modelling detail into the last corners of this small airfield. It is clear that the modelling talent present here is superb and the developer cares about details and an authentic look-and-feel. One item needs to be addressed though, hence only 4 stars; The windsock is missing, both the ground marking and the model itself. This is rather vital on any airport and needs to be added. Furthermore, the VOR station north of the field is flat, it would be lovely to have this represented in 3D as well. Looking forward to seeing more airports done by this developer!

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - LOCARNO LSZL MSFS

The scenery unfortunately is another straight port of old P3D material, shown by low fidelity building models featuring horrendously low-res textures. Hangars, fuel station, fire station, you don't want to land, park or taxi close to those, since their textures are - for the most part - very low-res including image compression artefacts. Paired with low-fidelity modelling, those buildings then get the feel of FSX, as simple as that. Furthermore, the static aircraft are either generic MSFS models (nicely detailed but without any local liveries) or they are ported over from P3D featuring hexagon-wheels and the like. Sure the latter are OK from a distance, but parking next to them is painful. It is blatantly evident that FlyLogic did another cheap port on this one. Most buildings look exactly the same as they did in the P3D version, devoid of ANY MSFS-type features placed far below most payware sceneries developed for MSFS in quality. You simply don't model like this in MSFS, period. So this is 2 stars only. FlyLogic CAN do better, they DID do a lot better in some of their previous releases. Which makes it even more inexcusable to use old low-resolution textures and low-poly hangars from a different era. And there is also no excuse for providing such rudimentary parking facilities; There's only parking spots selectable in half of the civil fixed-wing parking spots. There are no parking stands selectable in the military area and there are no helipad definitions anywhere on the airport. There's other flaws in MSFS features as well: The grass runway work is not realistic at all because the runway numbers are low-res textures placed in high grass, but the 3D-grass being cut in a square around the decals, revealing 2D low-res grass textures below. Other developers have done far better work on grass runways. Are there some decent quality 3D models on the airport? Sure, a select few are done quite nicely, but those are in clear minority sadly. So this scenery is far below the quality expected of a MSFS payware airport. And I'm not commenting on the price either, as there's freeware with a lot more quality than this. One can only hope that FlyLogic soon runs out of airports to port over. Because, as I said above, they are capable of producing decent quality if they want to. This is not it.

AEROSOFT - SIM-WINGS IBIZA V2 MSFS

Reviewing V2 of Ibiza here, which is a fantastic airport scenery. It's an incredible value for money, since you get it all: - VDGS included. They use Aerosoft's VDGS which is superb. - Accurate runway elevation profile. Very important for any airport scenery. Many other developers do approximations only, or they don't bother at all and you'll get crazy up- and down slopes all over the place. This is a proper elevation profile, it's spot on. - A signature feature by Sim-Wings: Accurate and complete ground markings. An often overlooked feature that I always enjoy in their sceneries. They are the masters in this area. - Great modelling detail, a superb increase compared to V1. No more flat fire vehicles. - Overall very high levels of accuracy, they've captured the feeling of being there quite well. You can't go wrong with this release. V1 was a very early port of the P3D version when MSFS was still new. V2 is now properly modelled and textured, and therefore comes highly recommended and is better than competing offerings.

VERTICALSIM - KSYR SYRACUSE HANCOCK INTERNATIONAL MSFS

When it comes to modelling and texturing of buildings, this airport is done very nicely. Good amount of detail, good performance, nicely integrated in its surroundings. There's one issue though that kind of ruins the experience for me, and that is ground markings. Some of them are done well and crisp, however, there are also a lot of lines laid down as low resolution textures with bright jagged lines at their edge. It's particularly bad with the red stripe markings beneath the jetways. Those are of a very bad resolution but are unfortunately those that you see the closest and the longest while being parked at the gate. I don't know why some markings are done well while others are bad, but it's certainly something that should be improved considerably for the latter. Another small issue that could have been avoided very easily with a bit of care and quality control: The majority of jetways do not connect properly to the terminal buildings. Many are barely touching the wall, and I have even found one that has no connection to the terminal at all. Easily avoidable and it's a pity that this made it into the final release. There's a lot of good effort here, I would just wish that we'd have crisp ground markings everywhere and some more quality control. Something that is just necessary on a price level this high.

I do not mind airport interior modelling, in fact I like it quite a bit IF it can be seen when being out at parked aircraft. This scenery however has put way too much emphasis on the interior while neglecting the rest of the airport. The main terminal building is superb, no question about it. However, detail elsewhere is rather scarce and sterile looking in places, and there are plenty of flat objects visible on the aerial imagery all around the airport. Modelling capacity should have been used there instead of areas inside the terminal building invisible from parked aircraft. Also I wish developers would stop doing these low-quality red markings on aprons which are extremely oversaturated to a point where they look sterile and artificial. 3 solid stars for the good modelling effort on the terminal! Though I want to point out that the rest of the airport is important too.

INIBUILDS - INIBUILDS LONDON HEATHROW EGLL MSFS

Good modelling, VDGS as well as good performance are strong points of this scenery, unfortunately there are several issues that lower the quality to a point where I just don't think it's a good hub airport scenery: Some issues that are important for a large hub airport: - Complete absence of accurate airline gate assignments and wingspan size for parking spots. AI Airlines and aircraft types park in places where they never do on the real airport. - There is no custom, Heathrow-specific animated ground vehicle traffic anywhere on the aprons or service roads. - Gross errors in jetway placement: Most jetways lack a realistic looking attachment to the walls. Some of the jetways are not even touching the walls at all, it's especially bad at Terminal 4. And many jetways therefore do not attach to AI aircraft. Strange negligence in quality control for something labelled as "accurate jetway placement" in the features list. It's issues like these that prevent the scenery from delivering a true Heathrow flair. There are further items amiss where the competition has done better: - A few service road tunnel ramps have been modelled while most are represented by flat, non-descending roads only. This is very much noticeable where such tunnels are located next to taxiways. - Some terminal buildings feature interior modelling that is plenty good for such a large hub, great job there. However, on those buildings that do not have such 3D interiors, only low-resolution night lighting textures are present. Unfortunately many daytime building textures are of low resolution as well, and a bit sterile in places, which do get noticed around the parking spots. - In some areas crisp apron ground textures are bordered by very crude low res aerial imagery devoid of any 3D structures, which are again very much noticeable if located right next to taxiways or parking spots. - While it is admirable to see high-res textures on all cars in the parking lots, the LOD for that texture is set so close as to pop up right in front of the aircraft, making the approach to runways 27R/L rather painful. Fewer cars with better LOD texture properties would have been preferable here. - The maintenance area is odd looking with hangars fully open and empty, looking more like huge shelters instead of aircraft hangars. I don't need an endless amount of detail, but here the maintenance area is a true ghost town. So while I see some good effort by ini such as VDGS and good care in placing taxiway signs or lights, the overall quality is not that good I'm afraid, in texture quality, features and accuracy. The lack of accurate airline/wingspan specifications is especially painful in such a place, and there are many competitors that feature custom animated ground service vehicles as standard, both very important items at a hub airport.

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - BUOCHS LSZC MSFS

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - BUOCHS LSZC MSFS

Overall this is a decent representation of Buochs Airport, home of the aircraft manufacturer Pilatus. It's up do date with what had been added last on the real airport, and the overall level of detail is quite good. The problem with this scenery is the fact that it is a mix of newly modelled buildings with good detail and nice texturing, and old ports of the P3D and FSX versions with no detailed modelling and horrible low-res textures with pixelation and compression artefacts. None of the Pilatus hangars feature any interior modelling, which is fine by day but looks bad at night, with crude flat textures showing a lit up interior on the windows. The worst quality buildings are the smaller ones scattered around the Pilatus facilities on the northern half of the airfield, which kind of ruin the experience since there's a lot of parking spaces and taxiways going through that area. So parking at the Pilatus factories is not a nice experience and is too close to FSX-style scenery modelling. Things look quite a bit better in the south, where there are newer buildings featuring better texturing. Also the developer neglected to correct the vegetation in a vital part of the airfield. In the scenery you can see a large row of trees placed right next to the taxiway, making it impossible to taxi with business jets, where this would be no issue on the real airport. In reality, that strip of vegetation is mostly bushes with only a small tree here and there, but not generating such drastic wingspan restrictions. And since those bushes are right next to a taxiway, it would be even better to see some hand placed higher-res vegetation instead of the blurry autogen trees. In any case, taxiing to RWY25 should not feel like moving through a forrest. So while there are some nice features in this scenery, such as newer buildings or accurate ground markings, this clearly shows how many old parts have been ported to the new sim without any enhancements. That is just not good enough for the price asked here. FlyLogic clearly is capable of delivering higher quality buildings, evidenced by what they did on other sceneries. We can only hope that LSZC gets updated to newest standards one day.

UK2000 SCENERY - SPACEPORT AMERICA MSFS

UK2000 SCENERY - SPACEPORT AMERICA MSFS

This is a neat little scenery out in the desert, with nice detailed modelling and decent texturing. The static aircraft formation is of excellent quality and so the feeling of being at the Spaceport America is captured well. As such, the scenery would really have deserved a higher rating. However, there's some questionable decisions that make me downgrade it quite a bit. Smaller issues first: - The parking stands all have been laid out in a way that makes no sense. So whenever you load your aircraft onto the apron, you'll always need a pushback to get going. Why would anyone do that on an empty apron without markings, makes no sense at all. - While the window textures have been done well in daylight, the large window front looks a bit odd in darkness, as if there's no glass installed, no reflection effects or anything like it. - This is a VFR only airport that most probably sees no activity during hours of darkness. So there's no runway lighting. That's all fine and well. But then there are default blue taxiway edge lights present on all bits of taxiway, which are certainly not there on the real airfield And here's the big one: - If you are going to model an airport that has almost nothing on it besides a large building and runway, at least model EVERYTHING else that is visible while flying there. And that includes the perimeter fence. There is some fencing around the main buildings, but the fencing is completely missing beyond that area. It is however perfectly visible on the aerial imagery. So for heavens sake just continue laying out fencing all around the airfield and add the various gates alongside the fence. Because it's obviously perfectly visible while taxiing or landing on the real airfield, and would have spiced up the empty area quite nicely. Having said all that, I still highly recommend getting this scenery as it's perfect for flight testing, having a very large runway with no high terrain around it. I'm glad UK2000 decided to do this one as it's rather unique and PC flight simming can be so much more than just flying at large commercial or buzzing GA airports. So I do hope there will be an update to make it match reality and spice it up a little bit. The thing with the night time glass textures is not important, but all other points mentioned should get corrected as soon as possible.

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - LANGENTHAL LSPL MSFS

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - LANGENTHAL LSPL MSFS

Another rather disappointing release by FlyLogic. It is especially disappointing because parts of the scenery are done really well showing good efforts by the developer. The positive: - Decent modelling detail overall (the restaurant being the exception, see below) - Interactive landing T - Colouring of the building- and night lighting textures is done well - Some decent high-resolution signs around the airfield incl. ground markings. So overall a solid base for a decent small airfield. However, there's numerous negatives: - The building's texture resolution is FAR too low for a 2022 MSFS release, many buildings look like early FSX sceneries. That is just not acceptable, especially on buildings located next to taxiways or parking spots. The textures show low resolution pixelation as well as compression artefacts everywhere, which is of course the worst where there are signs and lots of details on walls and doors. So parking next to the hangars is not a pleasant experience. - The restaurant with its large windows does not offer any interior modelling. Instead it uses old FSX style 2D interior photos on its windows. That is just lazy modelling and texturing work unsuitable for the MSFS world. - Some obvious inaccuracies and errors in runway markings compared to the real runway - Lowest-res default car objects placed right next to the taxiways, which do not help immersion. On the other hand one can see a flat road vehicle on shortfinal on the Asobo aerial imagery. Why not place a stock object to cover that one? Low-resolution wouldn't hurt there. It doesn't help either that some of the highest-res textures are commercials placed on the airport promoting their own brand, which obviously do not exist on the real airport. Flylogic can do much better, in interior modelling, runway marking accuracy and texture resolution, they have shown so in several previous releases. It is therefore really disappointing that LSPL ended up being such a low-effort scenery.

SIMPORT TEAM - SORSTOKKEN STORD AIRPORT ENSO MSFS

The airport features nice modelling for buildings in a good amount of detail and using crisp textures. What I do not like is the fact that the paved ground textures (apron and runway) are not at all life-like, too clean and perfect. Adding to that are the ground markings which are also too clean and sterile looking with a cartoonish looking contrast. So the quality of the ground textures does not match the good quality for the buildings. Another drawback is the lack of aviation-related attention to detail: - Windsocks are missing - Localiser antenna is missing (visible as blurry part of the aerial imagery) - A generic model has been placed where the VOR station is located, however it is not the model of a VOR station - Wrong type of approach lighting - PAPI lights do not match the position of the lights visible on the aerial imagery So overall this is a good effort on the part of the buildings, but lacking in ground textures, markings and aviation related details.

This is by far the best Swiss airfield AG Sim has done so far. Nicely embedded into its surroundings with good modelling details and crisp textures, looking quite life-like overall. The ground markings are correct and the paved surface textures do not look sterile as they did in previous releases. The scenery doesn't feature many default assets either so this really is a lovely recreation of this gliding airfield. One thing that could be improved: The flood lighting during night time is overdone quite a bit The main building complex with the restaurant seems to get a large-area flood light from an unknown position, making it look way brighter than reality. Fortunately there's no night operations at Schänis so this is not taking away from the enjoyment too much, but should still be corrected. In any case, gliding at this location is as lovely as it is in reality, well done.

I'll make this one short: The airport add-on overall is quite decent really, not as good as MSFS would allow in terms of texturing quality and modelling detail, but it's OK considering this was released early in the life of MSFS. However, the developer has been made aware of critical bugs almost a year ago: There are duplicate/overlapping and oversized holding point markings for runway 26R, as well as partial duplicate windsocks. A fix for both was promised but never delivered. With these errors I cannot recommend buying this airfield.

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - WANGEN-LACHEN LSPV & LSPW MSFS

A job well done for this small Swiss airfield. Runway and apron markings are accurate, the buildings are textured nicely and crisp, and important infrastructure such as the landing-T or the VASI approach aid are authentic and functional. The harbour area is fairly detailed, making this a challenging approach due to the close location to the runway, and the latter being rather short. This version of Wangen Lachen airfield is clearly superior compared to a competing offer, and I would recommend this to anyone wanting to do VFR flying in Switzerland. FlyLogic proves that they can do very nice and detailed work if it's not a port from old P3D sceneries, like with some previous offerings. This one is new and it shows well! One thing negative though: The seaplane base, advertised as being part of the scenery, is not immersive at all. It's just a small hangar placed at the lakeside. No work has been done to anything surrounding that hangar, no details added, it's default aerial imagery and low-res autogen trees only.

UK2000 SCENERY - FLAGSTAFF AIRPORT MSFS

A job very well done by UK2000. Nice texturing with accurate colours all over the place, detail and 3D everywhere, a meaningful amount of airport-specific static aircraft, this all adds nicely to the immersion factor. You have open hangars, closed hangers, filled ones, empty ones, the airport feels busy and gives you plenty of places to park your GA aircraft surrounded by detailed modelling. The airport also integrates very well into its surroundings. I only wish the rather enormous VOR station right next to the airport would have been modelled as well. It's not understandable how such a large structure can be omitted when it is an integral part of this small airport. So the VOR was left as is, meaning a crude blurb of polygons due to photogrammetry, or all flat if you have turned photogrammetry off. Adding a detailed 3D VOR structure would add a lot of immersion to the place, a shame UK2000 chose to cut corners here. Still, I highly recommend getting this airport located in a scenic area, a great place for some GA flying!

This scenery is extremely well done in some parts, and then lacking any detail in others, which is unfortunate, since what is there and modelled usually is of high quality. with great and lifelike textures. However, the airport has got missing buildings and ground equipment all over the place, meaning you see flat houses, trucks and industrial buildings everywhere. Between some taxiways, next to the runway and aprons, and in the immediate surroundings of the airport. And these are vast areas where things are all flat and thus clearly visible when flying to and from the airport. It's a bit of a shame. The developer clearly shows talent, but leaving so many areas completely flat tells me development was kind of rushed, which in turn hampers immersion quite a lot.

FSDREAMTEAM - ZURICH AIRPORT MSFS

I wanted to check out FSDTs Zurich scenery, since the one provided by Asobo (Gaya) has open issues that have never been fixed. Unfortunately, this scenery by FSDT is much much worse in quality: Some of it is nice, like certain modelled objects and buildings have been done nicely and detailed, and with better colour accuracy compared to the free handcrafted version. Ground markings are crisp and night lighting is done well in most areas. But where this scenery fails horribly is in completeness, features, quality control and thoroughness of modelling. - I feel like half of the taxiway signs are missing, and you can clearly see the flat ones on the aerial imagery. - All localiser antennas are flat. And the one most visible (in reality) on final approach RWY16 has been patched over with an unmatching grass texture to hide it! - The VOR station in the middle of the airport is not modelled either (flat) - There is an ugly aerial image bleed-through in the general aviation parking area - There is a large parking area with flat cars right beneath the approach lights for RWY28 - Many flat objects or missing small buildings all around the airport, next to taxiways or runways (there's even flat baggage carts on the maintenance area parking) - Attempt of tunnel ramp on one side of the tunnel, which does not look good. The ramp is completely missing on the other side. - The fire station is modelled but the area is modelled and textured in FSX quality only - No custom animated service vehicles that would bring the airport to life. And the service road around the large midfield terminal is missing. - No VDGS yet - Interior terminal modelling is available in some places. Some of it is basic but nice. But the shopping areas use pixelated and out of perspective textures, feeling like a cheap FSX-port only. In summary: Avoid! There is just too many things wrong with this scenery and it does not represent what a modern-day hub airport should look like. Use the one provided for free by Asobo and hope that its bugs get fixed at some point.

MK STUDIOS - EICK CORK MSFS

MK STUDIOS - EICK CORK MSFS

Quite nice airport scenery during the day, good modelling and texturing throughout. One item that is unfortunately typical for MK: The two localiser antennas present are not modelled in 3D and thus are visible as blurred flat things on the aerial imagery. Disappointing for something that you overfly on every approach. These localiser antennas are rather generic objects. Model them once, then use them on all the airports you produce, how hard can it be. The night lighting is another star lost with issues that could have been avoided easily with a bit more quality control: The ATC tower is inside the flood lighting area of the light pole in front of it, meaning even the top of the tower is well lit at night which is just totally unrealistic (and the tower model being rather low-fidelity in both modelling and texturing doesn't help there). Also the hotel building behind the terminal has got atrocious night lighting textures: All its windows are lit as if there's a thousand suns shining inside the building, which is again totally unrealistic and distracting for the night scene because it's quite a large building. With these 3 issues resolved the scenery would have a much more natural and immersive look to it.

AEROSOFT - AVIATION-SIM-DESIGN AIRFIELD EMDEN MSFS

I don't know where to start, this airport is absolutely brilliant, stunning both in modelling and in texturing. Crisp textures everywhere, beautifully modelled hangars including the interiors, combined with lovely animated helicopters being pulled in and out of the hangars. Also all aviation related infrastructure/antennae have been done in high detail, including custom windsocks and perfect approach lighting structures. Night-lighting is done well, the main helipad at night is a sight to behold. One exception is the farming buildings on short final RWY25. Its windows are lit brighter than a thousand suns, creating some odd picture at night combined with the approach lights above them. The developer also modelled various things around the airport, making the approach even more interesting and realistic and the airport integrates perfectly into its surroundings. One item remains which I hope the developer can correct: While a lot of care has been given to the surroundings, there is this one large commercial area on short final for RWY07, featuring a large car park you overfly at low altitude. Unfortunately that car park is flat aerial imagery only, filled with blurry flat cars. Since this part is so close to the runway and you can't avoid looking at it, I would wish for it to at least get some 3D cars placed there. FPS at this airport are superb, so there's certainly room for some stock assets to be placed there. Aviation-Sim-Design has managed to set a new benchmark for regional airports, and mind you this is their first release. This one's highly recommended and I can't wait to see what they produce next!

Suroboyo have managed to deliver a lovely recreation of this airport. What is really nice to see is that all parking areas are represented in crips detail, not just the main civil apron. You'll find crisp textures and detailed models also on cargo and military sites. The airport is nicely integrated into its surroundings, and the textures colours are very life-like. Military static aircraft are very welcome to populate those MIL aprons and shelters, but one can't disable them. Not a big issue since most online flying is done on the civilian side anyway. If I can mention one negative item, it's the one about this area next to the civil apron featuring bushes on the aerial imagery, but no autogen vegetation bushes haven been placed. It would make taxiing to and from the apron a lot more interesting if you could navigate in between those bushes on all sides of the taxiways. Other than that the scenery is highly recommended for flying in more remote areas of the world, and in this case flying around some stunning volcanoes!

A lovely small airport with mostly very nice modelling and pleasing textures. Detail is high and colours are very life-like. The textures are crisp where needed and the airport is fitted neatly into its surroundings. And there's a nicely detailed 3D rendition of the VOR installation placed on short final, something that is overlooked frequently by other developers, so that's highly appreciated! A couple of items dampen the immersion quite a bit though: - Default jetways are used, which do resemble the real ones, but not much thought has been given in placing them, as they do not physically connect to the terminal. - The main terminal building's large glass front is modelled well by day, but at night with lighting present it looks as if there's no glass installed. - VDGS is represented by non-functional dummies. - Some night lighting textures are way overexposed, especially the large parking lot building, and therefore do not fit with the otherwise good to excellent texture quality. Due to the low and fair price, some of the items above can be forgiven. However, should these be corrected one day, the scenery can easily earn 5 stars.

Splendid recreation of this small airfield in central Switzerland. Nice modelling, beautiful textures that appear quite life-like, good runway markings, a wind-influenced landing-T, it's all there. Once again Flylogic demonstrates that they can do very good scenery if they don't port over things from FSX. Some hangar textures are a tiny bit too low-res for my taste, MSFS would certainly be capable of allowing a bit more resolution. And perhaps in the future we'll see custom windsocks (stock assets are included here), that would make the scenery perfect. I highly recommend this one if you want to have a home base for some SEP VFR flying through the Swiss alps!

UK2000 SCENERY - JOHN WAYNE AIRPORT MSFS

This add-on would have easily earned 4 stars as it's very nicely modelled with a lot of immersion all around, crisp textures on all buildings, nice static GA aircraft, good night lighting. I really wanted to like this scenery, but there's one thing that is completely immersion-breaking for me: On one end of the runway, right after the fence, there as an enormously big parking lot. It's large and it's right there front and centre 50% of the time you land at this airport, you can't not see it. And yet, it's only blurry default aerial image with flat cars shown, so it received no treatment by UK2000. And to me that is just not acceptable in 2022. You have a perfectly modelled airport within the perimeter fence but are expected to fly low ALT over a large area of blurry flat cars on short final? This parking lot, being so prominently placed, should have been included in the modelled area. And if FPS would have been a problem, a (almost) empty parking lot is still better than one filled with flat cars. Or there could have been less GA aircraft, because right now there are so many of them, they could be reduced by two thirds and it would still look great. And that's the second thing to point out: There's no way of reducing the amount of static aircraft or even disable them. People flying GA on VATSIM might want the latter, and even though the MSFS AI system is completely broken at the time of writing, at some point GA traffic is going to fill the airport, at which point you'll want to have more parking spaces available. Other than those 2 issues mentioned above it is a perfectly fine piece of work. If it weren't for that immersion-breaking approach over flat cars, this would be a real winner indeed.

The modelling quality is quite high with this scenery, especially the airport buildings are of good quality. Unfortunately some ground textures are very blurry, such as the runway markings only showing extremely blurred arrows in the displaced threshold area. So while building textures are mostly nice and crisp, I wished the ground textures would have received a bit more resolution as well. Frame rates are on the low side for an airport of this size and detail, but it's still manageable. Flying at this airport using a complex airliner add-on might be a bit of a challenge. The real airport features a visual docking guidance system, which is not working on this airport, it is static only. All in all a good effort, but there are other developers offering better overall quality at this rather high price point. To account for the deficiencies mentioned above, I feel the add-on should have been offered at a slightly lower price.

Neat recreation of this little airport located at the doorstep of downtown Toronto, with careful modelling and nice texturing throughout. It's also great to see developers taking care of the airport's surroundings, as has been done here. Whether or not it's necessary to then call this "premium" when other developers provide this level of quality as standard, is of course open for debate. In any case, nothing to fault here at the airport itself, it's fantastic detail with good performance and crisp texturing throughout. One star less for keeping the 3 small neighbouring ports default filled with completely flat boats. Those ports are very close to the airport and thus are well visible on approach. They should have placed a few static boats in each port, could have even been stock assets are some low-fidelity models. Just something so that you won't have to look at flat boats on approach. In any case, this one's highly recommended!

AEROSOFT - AEROSOFT AIRPORT AUGSBURG MSFS

This is a fantastic small airport add-on, highly recommended. The developer clearly has given a lot of attention to detail with great modelling and exceptional texturing work. I especially like the colour palette that appears to be very much true-to-life with zero artificial feel to it at all. Furthermore, the airport is very well embedded into its surroundings making the scene very believable during approach. This scenery is highly recommended for anyone doing German VFR or IFR flying, as the airport is perfectly suitable for both.

AEROSOFT - AIRPORT MYKONOS MSFS

AEROSOFT - AIRPORT MYKONOS MSFS

Apron- and runway textures are great, buildings are very nicely modelled and textured, but everything else does look rather bad and is clearly below 29Palms high standard. The main issue here is that they did not use a custom high-res aerial image for this scenery, and the default one unfortunately is of very low resolution, which can clearly be seen during approach and when taxiing around. Adding to the low resolution is the fact that there are many structures visible in close proximity to the airport that are all flat and lacking any kind of modelling, further giving the impression of a low effort job. There is however a crisp texture for a service road all around the airport, unfortunately that texture is very sterile and generic looking, not matching a real road texture. It would have been OK to have a low-res ground photo for the scenery, IF 29Palms had taken the time to put 3D models (Autogen would have been fine!) on all structures visible on the ground imagery around the airport, that would have disguised the low resolution somewhat. But as things are done currently does not represent the standard of a modern MSFS add-on airport where you expect crisp textures on the airport itself without flat structures surrounding it.

AEROSOFT - AIRPORT ST. TROPEZ MSFS

Initially this looks like a nicely done scenery that is fitted well into its surroundings. Good modelling on the buildings with crisp textures, and I do not mind that there's no interior modelling on buildings this small. However, there are several items that do ruin the experience on closer examination: - The PAPI lights do not match the aerial imagery. And I doubt they are set to 4° as on the real airport. - Detail on the helipads is very low with things like the light poles missing completely - The airport fence's shadow is clearly visible on the aerial imagery, but the developer neglected to actually place a fence around the airport. This would have been so easy to do and would have helped with the immersion of a small airfield. - I know this airport is daylight hours only, but that doesn't mean the ATC tower night lighting should be THIS bad. The texture does not fit the window frames modelled in 3D and is very blurry, and it is too bright for doing ATC anyway. No night lighting would have looked far more realistic than what is implemented now. One could still pick this scenery up in a sale for the challenging approach it provides, but I wished the developer would have been a bit more careful with the details and used the capabilities of MSFS to provide a higher level of detail.

BEAUTIFUL MODEL OF THE WORLD - VIGO SPAIN - MSFS

BEAUTIFUL MODEL OF THE WORLD - VIGO SPAIN - MSFS

While the main terminal and its surroundings are modelled quite nicely with good textures and a nicely textured main apron, the rest of the airport clearly lacks detail and accuracy unfortunately. You need to know that the default aerial imagery is used for this scenery. This results in an enormous diagonal division line running across the airport where Bing has two different images joined, a dark one and a bright one.The airport developer unfortunately did not do anything to correct this so the appearance is not true-to-life at all. And then there are these unnecessarily careless items that just add up to something that is not good quality anymore: A parking lot next to the runway, where there are trucks visible on the aerial image, they just placed cars on top of it that do not match. The localiser antenna is displaced by a few meters for no reason, and one set of PAPI lights does not match the base photo either. And why couldn't they just model the fire crew training aircraft and area east of the runway, it would have given a bit of life to an otherwise very dull area of the airport, and you clearly see the flat training aircraft on the aerial image. So overall the airport has parts that are done quite nicely, but I wish the developer would have given more care to everything that is away from the main apron and terminal.

A lovely small airport, well done! Everything you'd expect and want is modelled in 3D, ground textures are very good too and the airport fits nicely into its surroundings with no flat trees or buildings visible on approach. I would agree with the previous reviewer that the aprons appear just a little bit too lifeless. And there's a few issues with textures/markings: For one some ground markings appear very dark and with too much contrast to the pavement they are painted on. Saturation is perfectly fine, they just need to be somewhat brighter. Also the ground textures around the DHL terminal are kind of odd and do not fit the rest of the ground texture quality; The service road around the building is rather sterile and generic looking, and immediately adjacent to the building you can see a sort of gravel-like texture. Why couldn't they just extend the detailed ground poly all the way to the building and add some nice, used-looking pavement textures? Despite these minor items I can still highly recommend getting this airport for any Spanish collection!

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - SPECK-FEHRALTORF LSZK MSFS

I'm afraid this is another disappointing P3D conversion done by Flylogic. There are some good things to be seen however: The airport is nicely modelled with adequate detail and even includes various objects/houses placed around the airfield. Also the landing T in the signal square is dynamic and responds to wind, which is great to have and many other developers don't bother to do, so well done on that! Now what is unacceptable is the fact that in many places the building textures are VERY low resolution and not at all worthy of an MSFS scenery, but a clear sign that existing textures from P3D have been reused. While this might be acceptable for a texture hidden away, low resolution textures are clearly visible from many parts of the parking/taxiing area. The fuel station is particularly painful to look at as that is the most common place where you taxi and park right in front. Flylogic should have gone back to the airfield to take new pictures for proper MSFS high-res textures, instead they went the cheap way and simply reused their old material. Also of note is the fact that there's no custom ground imagery being used, so the runway texture is, while not terrible, still rather blurry. And the windsocks are default MSFS as well, so one is way too large and therefore residing partially inside the playing ground structure. A custom windsock model matching the real size and colour would have been preferable here. The scenery could have easily been a nice charming place, if only they had used proper high-res building textures and a bit more detailed modelling in certain areas, something that MSFS would easily allow.

JUSTSIM - EDDS - STUTTGART AIRPORT MSFS

JUSTSIM - EDDS - STUTTGART AIRPORT MSFS

The airport is actually fairly detailed and nicely modelled, not much to complain in that area. Textures is an other topic I'm afraid. The textures put on the ATC tower are rather gross, featuring 2D-out-of-perspective blurry textures that are not at all what you would expect from a MSFS add-on. Then again, the hand-crafted EDDS delivered by Asobo did miss out the tower completely, so let's call it a draw shall we? Luckily it is located quite far away off the runway, so you won't see that much. The main terminal interior is all blurry 2D textures too. That doesn't matter during daytime, but obviously you can see that clearly during night hours. It's not that bad since the night textures for the windows and glass front are OK regarding perspective. What really bothers me, and I can't think of a reason as to why Justsim did this; Surrounding all taxiways and the runway one can see this generic repetitive band of grass texture that does not match to the surrounding aerial image at all, meaning it's a completely different shade of green. All they had to do really was to at least use a grass texture that features the same blueish-green colour and it would have looked fairly OK. But as it is currently it simply looks artificial and out of place and is thus kind of destroying the immersion during daytime. And I just don't see a reason for this at all. Were it not for that off-colour grass texture, my rating would have been higher. It is still a good step up in quality from the Asobo EDDS though. For this being a P3D convert the price is rather high, but if you must have a Stuttgart airport in your collection, this one is still the one to get. Otherwise I'd recommend to look at other German airports.

FRANCE VFR - PARIS VFR AIRPORTS - 23 AIRPORTS MSFS

While this package is of good value overall, I must say I'm disappointed with the quality delivered here. On the plus side, apron- and runway textures are usually very decent with accurate markings, and one does get a high number of airfields with the package. Also there are numerous custom static aircraft with appropriate textures of French aircraft, which gives the airfields a nice touch. However, several issues across all airports make this package to be below average quality: - Most building textures are of very low resolution, they are blurry with colour artefacts and are more of a standard from back in the FSX days. This is very well visible on all hanger fronts, not just with their logos writing on them, but also with wall, window and door textures. - The modelling of the buildings is fairly detailed, but not as detailed as it could be in modern MSFS sceneries. - I spotted several runways where the PAPI lights have been placed quite a bit away from the spot where they are visible on the aerial photo. Why couldn't they just place them on top where they belong. - There are a few instances where the 3D grass does not really match with the colour of the aerial photo and where a LOD issue is visible, making the grass load right in front of the aircraft only. So while this is undoubtably a good value when looking at the number of airfields, I can't help but wish they would have been split in several packages with slightly higher pricing, but with better quality. Modelling, and especially building texturing is not up to the current standards and capabilities of MSFS sceneries, there's just too many low resolution building textures throughout the package. This can still be a good package for GA flying around Paris, but be prepared to find FSX-style buildings in many places.

NORTHERN SKY STUDIO - KETCHIKAN INT - MSFS

NORTHERN SKY STUDIO - KETCHIKAN INT - MSFS

What stands out with this airport is the amount of detail all around the airport itself, as well as very nice looking buildings and textures in daytime. The biggest let-down for me are the ground textures on the apron, taxiways and runway. While they do have nice-looking effects on them, the textures themselves are a bit artificial looking in places and not always true to life. For example the two stands at the terminal building do not have yellow lines as they should, those are interrupted by concrete textures. Also the red markings on the apron are default and do not get covered by snow, and do have too much saturation. Also the terrain textures next to the taxiways and runway are lacking a bit of detail and structure, I would have hoped that these do get some more detail and depth to them. And while I do not mind at all that such a small terminal building does not have a 3D interior, the night lighting for its windows is very low quality, overly bright (overexposed photo) and revealing a flat interior with an odd geometry. If those textures were kept much more subtle with the over-exposure removed, it would have looked a lot less distracting.

VREF SIMULATIONS - KMTP MOUNTAUK AIRPORT MSFS

VREF SIMULATIONS - KMTP MOUNTAUK AIRPORT MSFS

Well modelled and textured overall, a lot of care has been given to model the small harbour area immediately adjacent to the airfield, which make the approach that much more interesting. Though I feel a similar level of care should have been given to the harbour area on the other side of the bay but still very much located on short final close to the airfield. The problem is that default scenery has the harbour textures fade into the water, which is not the fault of VREF. However, they could have added some low-poly modelling on top of that texture to hide it from view. It IS very well visible due to its location directly underneath the short final where one overflies at very low altitude. So this kind of spoils the immersion and could have been avoided by just doing a tiny bit more modelling, or even simply placing parts of the same assets from the opposite side of the bay.

WF SCENERY STUDIO - SHANGHAI PUDONG ZSPD MSFS

The airport overall is very nicely modelled with lots of detail for such a huge area. No blurry areas, very nice terminal buildings, good night lighting, all very carefully done. Too bad really that there are many parts in/around buildings and on ground (grass areas, terminal walls, terminal interiors etc.) where texture flickering can be seen from a bit of a distance. These seem to be modelling/texture layering conflicts which really should have been corrected before release. The flickering disappears when close-up on these positions so it does not ruin the entire experience, however the distance where it becomes visible is too close to overlook it. Another issue is night lighting: The terminal buildings featuring 3D interior modelling do have very nice subtle night lighting inside with a nice glass effect also at night. However all other buildings, literally every building on the airport apart from the terminals, features extremely bright window textures as night lighting and always all windows evenly lit with very bright lighting. This makes it look very artificial and not at all life-like. Also the ATC tower interior is fully lit up at night, something that simply wouldn't work in reality and looks very odd even from a distance. That's a bit of a shame as it is a simple texture issue where the designers didn't put any effort into night textures of most buildings, and made it look very artificial instead of something life-like. It's perfect in the terminal buildings, but bad almost everywhere else. Both issues could easily have been avoided by just taking a little bit of extra care before release, clean up the flickering and put some effort into the low-definition building's night textures. Everything else is really well done, it's therefore quite a shame that such issues reduce immersion during daytime as well as at night.

The airport is well done overall, I especially like the very life-like ground texturing for the apron and taxiway areas. The airport is also nicely embedded into it's surroundings with no notable flat buildings or vegetation visible. I do however find that the night lighting is a bit over the top, very much blinding in most areas. And most notably, the ATC tower is covered in full-blown flood lighting inside and out, which obviously wouldn't work in a real ATC tower. Also the (default) ground support equipment around the terminal parking stands is placed rather tight, making one pushback truck and baggage carts placed on top of each other.

UK2000 SCENERY - INVERNESS 2020HD MSFS

A job very well done by UK2000! The airport is fairly detailed with some lovely modelling throughout the airport, including more remote areas such as the HM Coastguard hangar or fire services buildings. Texturing is crisp and natural looking throughout, the only negative item would be the night lighting on buildings, which is a tad too bright and could be toned down a bit. Some building's windows are so brightly lit you'd think there's a rave party going on in there. Other than that, the airport is nicely integrated in its surroundings, no flat objects visible around the airport, so landing at Inverness is a very immersive indeed. Some very minor runway lighting issues have been spotted, like the green threshold lighting being placed at the physical threshold instead of the displaced threshold. But nothing that would take away the sense of realism of this scenery. One of the best airports in MSFS yet by UK2000, highly recommended!

This scenery to me is a bit of a mixed-bag. While the buildings modelling is quite nice, other aspects of the airport have received a low-effort treatment only. As soon as you move away from the main terminal area, details start to fade off quickly and the airport is in certain areas even less detailed than the one from Asobo. Ground textures do not feel very life-like, the biggest let-down is this fuel station (at least that is what I think it should represent) that sits on top of a blurry bit of texture that looks very artificial. The harbour area next to the airport did not look as detailed as on the screenshots here. There might be a conflict between this scenery and default assets. Removing the Asobo scenery also removed the cruise ship model, while with the Asobo scenery in place I had 2 windsocks at the same place, one looking in the opposite direction.

MK STUDIOS - KEFLAVIK MSFS

MK STUDIOS - KEFLAVIK MSFS

Unfortunately this is a very low-effort port from P3D with no additional care given for more details and accuracy: - PAPI Lights and Approach Lights are not aligned with the photo base, so you see them twice, once flat and once in 3D. - No localiser antennas added: Those are simply missing. - Some paved surfaces look rather generic and not very life-like. - Ground support equipment around the main terminal area is appalling: There's none, no custom GSE at all, only a few MSFS default pushback trucks visible and the gates are pretty much completely empty. This is a big let-down and can't make you feel like being there. - Some parts of the airport use MSFS default marking materials which look very unnatural and does not get covered by snow. - No VDGS, non-functional dummies only. - Jetways are a bit low-detail in certain areas, using low-res 2D textures instead of 3D modelling. So while much of the building and object modelling is done very nicely, the heavy use of MSFS default assets is disappointing, and so is the missing features mentioned above. I cannot recommend buying this add-on.

DC SCENERY DESIGN - PACV - MERLE K. (MUDHOLE) SMITH - CORDOVA, ALASKA - MSFS

A typical DC Scenery Design release featuring fantastic modelling on buildings and their textures. You find an odd low-res logo here and there, but overall the buildings and other structural models are of excellent quality. However this scenery falls short on ground textures and other bits that should have been discovered during testing: - There are trees that are too tall on short final 09. Flying on the correct approach path you'd collide with trees. - The sequential approach lights for runway 09 are visible from the opposite side as well, this is HIGHLY distracting and of course not realistic, as these should be omnidirectional lights. - The tower structure holding the airport beacon has an LOD issue and is invisible when standing at the RWY threshold. So the beacon light appears to be hovering in mid-air and is generally too large in size for the effect. - Apron and taxiway ground textures and markings are quite generic and rather sterile looking. There should be much more variation in shades of grey. And especially the red aircraft stand marking is WAY too bright and oversaturated and looks very artificial. - Certain 3D models have been placed onto their flat and blurry counterpart ground textures, such as the yellow windsock markings. Those could have been easily photoshopped out of the grass to make things look more natural. So great effort on buildings and 3D models but too little effort on ground textures and other things that could have been improved a lot without too much additional work. This makes the scenery look quite artificial unfortunately. And especially errors such as too tall trees on short final and unrealistic sequential approach lights should be corrected. So far this is the first DC release I regret buying.

MAILSOFT GMBH FLYLOGIC - BIRRFELD LSZF MSFS

The scenery definitely has its strong points: - Crisp ground markings with good colour and great accuracy - Dynamic landing-T at the signal square area - Some areas/buildings important to fly VFR have been modelled - Nice work on the snow coverage These are important features and the developer can be commended for doing these. However, the scenery falls short in many other areas: - Biggest let-down for me is the ground texturing. It is not at all true-to-life, the grass runway and its associated taxiways have a yellow-green texture while the rest of the grass area is much more blueish-green. This is not at all realistic and looks quite cartoonish and bad when on final during landing. - While the recreational facilities have been modelled quite nicely, the buildings themselves are of very low detail and have blurry textures with what looks like compression artefacts. This is not at all what the simulator is capable of showing and is a clear sign of porting over from P3D/FSX. - The night lighting, while being marketed as a highlight of the scenery, is very disappointing. For the buildings it means a blurry and over-exposed photo of lit-up windows, very unnatural looking and also a clear left-over from P3D/FSX. Overall it is clear that this scenery is a rather simple port of the old P3D/FSX sceneries. There is no interior modelling, no open hangar with a lively interior, no PBR texturing, and an overall lack of detail on the flying side of things. While I admire them from modelling some of the airport's surroundings and doing a dynamic landing-T, it is still a very low fidelity scenery nowhere near the standard a modern MSFS scenery can have. You need only to compare to masterpieces from Burning Blue Designs, AUScene or NZA Simulations to realise this Birrfeld scenery would need a complete makeover to be able to compete at the same level of quality. Here's hope that we can soon have Birrfeld V2!

DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - RJAA TOKYO NARITA P3D4.4-5

To me this scenery is a very mixed bag. There are plenty of nicely modelled areas, performance is great and daytime building textures look good. The developer has also put some effort into modelling the tunnels beneath the various aprons and taxiways. Another plus is the integration of SODE VDGS. There's bad stuff however: - The aerial photo used for the airport is quite low resolution, which wouldn't be too bad if DD had put in more effort in using higher res texture bits in certain areas. All parts immediately next to the taxiways and aprons is very blurry, well visible from the cockpit when parked or taxiing by. You can spot countless flat and blurry objects in many grass parts or very blurry service roads. Not even some small bits of 3D grass were used to spice up things. - There is no optional colour blending with ORBX FTX Global. In some seasons the airport area will stick out more than in others, but Autumn looks particularly bad. - Many SODE jetways seem to be configured incorrectly, resulting in only 1 jetway connecting to aircraft when there's 2 doors available. - Night-time texturing is bad on the main terminal. It looks as if there is no glass windows present, all is fully transparent, and you look onto a bland, artificial looking interior with blurry shop textures. Also on the aerial photo ALL public roads are extremely bright yellow coloured, many times brighter than the airport itself. This is not realistic, road lights are never this intense. - While commendable effort was put in modelling the tunnels around the airport, they are not at all detailed, mostly 2D textures are used on their entrance and mesh artefacts are visible as soon as you move away a few metres. - The installer does not let you choose the install path. Also overall the scenery does not feel very high-tech in materials used. There are some traces of PBR, however it does not look and feel as realistic as some competitors. Ground texturing and main terminal night lighting are the biggest flaws in my opinion. With some more effort, DD could make this to be a very good scenery.

Excellent scenery by WFSS, their best yet! The 3D modelling is exceptional, crisp texturing everywhere, and the terminal buildings feature internal modelling without any performance penalty. Very nice night lighting is complemented by accurate runway lighting. SODE has been used exceptionally well, providing VDGS, very detailed jetways and also windsocks. This really is very high quality, while having excellent performance overall. Only a few issues remain that could have been done a bit better: - The aerial imagery used for the ground should have been made more compatible to the surrounding textures, which are quite a bit lighter in colour and thus the airport stands out in Spring, Summer and Autumn. Seasonal integration for Winter and Hard Winter is perfect. An optional match to ORBX Global would be even more desirable. - 3D grass is not pleasant to look at. On approach one can clearly see diagonal lines of grass placed all over in a crude manner, also across areas that or not grass. It should have been made optional, but disabling items is not possible. - The airport could use more dynamic vehicle traffic. I could only count 3 vehicles moving at the entire airport, all in the same terminal area, with other areas void of animated vehicles. Performance is exceptional, a few more animated service vehicles would not hurt at all. - The orbs placed on the apron light poles at night-time are too large. While they might look like this in overexposed photos, in reality those lights are never THAT big. Or it would be good to allow disabling those effects. But these are all minor items, this is one of the best Chinese airports out there and I can highly recommend buying it!

I need to do a short follow-up review: Since my last review, FSDT has brought out several updates and has worked on most items I had marked as negative. + The glass texturing has had a massive improvement and looks really good now. The store fronts have been worked on as well, so they look better, but it still somewhat crude interior modelling in those areas. + Approach lights got improved + Lots of additional details added, like the air ambulance helicopter base + Better modelling of the EasyJet terminal All in all, the scenery is really good now and can be highly recommended for everyone wanting to fly to Switzerland/France/Germany! It's great to see the developer responding to feedback and updating the product to a good high standard. But the question needs to be raised, why couldn't they do this for the initial release already? And I still wish they would use proper SODE jetways, not those with the GSX tech in them. That way they could dock to AI Aircraft, as they do with every other developer.

Quite a typical release from Justsim: Not too bad really, nice modelling for the buildings, good integration into the surrounding ORBX Open LC EU. Also typical, bad runway textures (still the same old tyre marks!) and no interior modelling of the terminal, even if it is one giant glass palace. Also the modelling around the airport's trenches is quite crude and not nice too look at with big gaps between their walls and the terrain. What is inexcusable though is the fact that the runway lighting is completely wrong for runway 33. The runway end lights have been placed at the location of the OPPOSITE displaced threshold lights, plus parts of the runway lighting has some visibility issues as well. All in all I cannot recommend this version of LFSB. I wish Justsim would work together with Digital Design for every release, the results are so much more accurate whenever both teams join forces.

FSDG - DURBAN FSX P3D

It's fantastic to see more content being created for Africa, so I bought Durban with much anticipation. And there is plenty to like about this scenery: + Overall good 3D modelling and very nice daytime texturing. Crisp, good colours. + Good quality aerial photo used around the airport perimeter. + Very good optional integration with ORBX OpenLC Africa + SODE Jetways and SODE Windsocks Unfortunately I can only give 3 stars due to some significant deficiencies: - The main terminal night texturing is bad, really bad. To not do any interior 3D modelling is OK for the price of this scenery. But just slapping on very low-resolution textures depicting a blurry terminal interior looks awful, especially when parked at the terminal. They should have done opaque windows with glass textures instead. But using a blurry texture simply looks very old and dated. - Some parts at the service road level of the terminal are also not done in 3D, but using a skewed low-res texture instead to simulate a tunnel. That is simply not up-to-date scenery design. - There's no Autogen trees, bushes and houses placed on the Northern part of the scenery, and some parts to the East. Approaching the runway from the North, you will overfly flat vegetation and houses. That is too bad, because the scenery integration is otherwise done very nicely. - Dummy VDGS: They do not deliver functional VDGS, non-working dummy devices only. No option for SODE VDGS either and also no GSX file that would at least place some VDGS if you owned that software. The scenery is overall still quite good value if you want to fly in Africa. But unfortunately the main terminal building is far from using up-to-date scenery design standards.

CENTRALSIM - TJBQ RAFAEL HERNANDEZ INTL AIRPORT P3D

Overall a nice little scenery with many parts to like! The very good: - Perfect integration into the surrounding scenery: The airport fits flawlessly into ORBX OpenLC textures, well done! Also good care has been taken to annotate the Autogen all around the airport, almost no flat buildings to be overflown on final. - And secondly, overall the texturing is quite nice with skilful use of shadows baked onto the buildings. The bad: - Speaking of texturing, it is inexcusable to have a flat Hercules present on the ground texture right next to the main taxiway. This should have been removed from the ground imagery! - Windsocks: Dummy windsocks! Also inexcusable for a flight simulation add-on: The windsocks are dummies and do NOT show wind speed nor direction. Either use functional SODE windsocks, or if that is not within the capability of the developer, at least give the option to place default windsocks onto the airport. Yes they're ugly, but at least they work! Another point to mention, some of the main buildings do feature crude 3D modelling only. The main hangar/terminal building is modelled quite nicely. However the big Lufthansa Technik hangar is completely flat and featureless when it comes to modelling. Being such a large building, it should have been there in more detail. Same goes for some other bigger buildings. Some are fine, others would have needed more detail. 3 stars overall, mainly because of the dummy windsocks, of which by the way one of the two has been forgotten to be placed into the scenery. This could have been a nice 4-star rating, were it not for this issue. Because as I said, flawless integration and nice texturing are a definitive strength here.

And the beauty of it, this is the case in ALL areas of the airport, from the fire station to the maintenance hangars, no area is overlooked. Adding to that, the airport is integrated flawlessly into ORBX OpenLC SA. Perfectly animated and functional SODE windsocks complement the scenery, as well as realistic looking runway lights. I would have loved to give this add-on a five star rating. Beautiful terminal modelling, nicely embedded into the ORBX FTX Germany surroundings, good performance, including all SODE stuff like windsocks, jetways and VDGS, and even beautiful ground textures with a clear Digital Design signature. However, two noticeable errors are present, and would not be that bad IF they had been corrected with the update: - 2 stands have VDGS modelled, which clearly block the doors of both hangar bays. However the charts clearly document that those stands do not have VDGS on the real airport, for the exact reason as to not block the hangars. - Touch down zone lighting is present on one runway end, but has been forgotten for the other runway end. 3 stars only, for the fact that I had alerted Justsim to those two very visible errors before the update was brought out. However my message was ignored. One more issue that is a bit less noticeable but still needs to be mentioned: The modelling and texturing of the Military Apron and and its buildings is a bit crude and lifeless unfortunately. Much less care has been given to recreate that part of the airport compared to the northern side.

FSDREAMTEAM - BASEL MULHOUSE FREIBURG MSFS P3D

At first glance this is a nicely done add-on airport with some careful modelling visible throughout the area. I'm impressed with the detailed work that has gone into the maintenance area to the East, with its ground level differences represented with a lot of detail. The airport matches all seasons and it is fairly well integrated into ORBX OpenLC EU and Vector. Taking a close look, there are some deficiencies that need to be mentioned: - The glass textures of the main terminal and the main airport building are not represented that well. There's too much of a green/blueish colour tint to the glass, especially during the night. - The storefronts inside the terminal are modelled and textured in a very crude fashion with ugly low resolution textures mostly out of proportion and perspective. In a terminal as glassy as this one, this does not look good when being parked right in front of them. They could have done a more detailed modelling OR made the glass front less transparent, either would have helped a lot. But right now the view out of the cockpit on many stands is not a nice one. - SODE jetways are present, however they do not dock to AI aircraft. - There is 3D approach light modelling for RWY15, however the lights itself are not mounted onto these models and are flat on the ground instead. - The aerial photo has not been matched that well to ORBX textures regarding colour and saturation, so the cut between the add-on and the surrounding scenery is clearly visible in all seasons except Winter. So while I think it is a nice add-on, some questionable design decisions do darken the overall impression quite a bit, it just doesn't look state-of-the-art. At least performance is excellent, no issues at all with FPS or fluid movement.

AEROSOFT - CANARY ISLANDS PROFESSIONAL - GRAN CANARIA P3D

AEROSOFT - CANARY ISLANDS PROFESSIONAL - GRAN CANARIA P3D

An absolute work of art what SimWings has done with the Gran Canaria airport. Modelling at the airport is extremely detailed, and the texturing looks very convincing including the PBR elements. I especially like the colour palette used at this airport, and indeed all over the island. Very true-to-life looking, one can see that extra care was given to an authentic color of the photo real imagery. And there's full autogen coverage up to the very top of the island. Good use of SODE for windsocks and jetways, and great and accurate runway-, taxiway-, and apron lighting! Furthermore, the amount of detail work that has gone into all the ground markings is possibly the best in the industry, I love it! Also nice: VDGS at the correct parking spots without the need of GSX. Oh and overall the modelling and texturing is detailed everywhere you go, not just around the main terminal, like many other developers do it. Accuracy and detail everywhere. Some small improvement requests as well as issues with the AFCAD file have been brought to the developer's attention, and it was promised to be taken care of in an update. SimWings updates its sceneries regularly, so I'm confident this one will arrive soon. But even without this update, this airport is easily the best add-on scenery in the region, highly recommended!

MK STUDIOS - LISBON P3D

MK STUDIOS - LISBON P3D

To me this scenery feels rushed: The textures of the main terminal feel quite sterile, and even with 3D vehicles set to maximum in the config tool, there's not a single baggage cart placed around said terminal building complex. My main gripe is with the surrounding photo texture. The quality of the texture itself is not too bad, though one can spot an aircraft on short final for one of the runways, which MK didn't feel it necessary to remove from the photo. Autogen is not placed with a lot of care. Even with full autogen density setting there's plenty of buildings, trees and bushes which are missing a 3D object. This means that if you can't afford full autogen density, then you will fly the approach over manly flat photo texture, as the object density is a lot lower compared to the default (or ORBX) terrain. And there isn't a single custom 3D object placed along the airport boundary, which would help with lower autogen settings, not even trees and bushes right at the threshold, so again you overfly flat vegetation on short final, unless you have autogen set to maximum. On the plus side: The airport ground texturing and detail (within the airport perimeter) is very good and deserves praise for detail and colouring. To summarise: It's OK, but all in all it just feels rushed and is missing the care for detail and flair that other developers put into their sceneries. It's clearly visible that MK Studios does quantity over quality. Too bad really, the skills would certainly be there if they wanted to do better. I hope they take their time with Dublin.

JETSTREAM DESIGNS - NANTES ATLANTIQUE P3D

JETSTREAM DESIGNS - NANTES ATLANTIQUE P3D

Fantastic scenery and I'm happy to see a great quality airport for France. With this work Jetstream Designs has placed itself firmly amongst the very best of scenery developers out there, FlyTampa, FlightBeam, 29Palms and SimWings. The modelling and texturing is of highest standards, the blending into the surroundings (FTX Global and OpenLC EU) very well done. Night lighting is very well done too, something that is often overlooked by developers. The taxiway signs night lighting for example is simply stunning. Also features SODE jetways and an extensive configurator tool to adjust it to your liking. All this is provided being very good on performance. So this product gives you all a modern scenery should have, for an airport that is quite interesting to fly to as it features many possibilities regarding approach types. Oh and while this is not a very big airport, the runway is plenty long for long haul flights and provides parking space even for a B777-300ER.

DIGITAL DESIGN - EDDP LEIPZIG-HALLE FSX P3D2-4

This is another masterpiece by Digital Design, well done! Beautiful modelling, texturing and colouring throughout, and SODE is used which is very much welcomed. Also the surroundings were well taken care of and the airport blends nicely with FTX OpenLC Europe. All this with very good frame rates and VAS usage. However I can only give three stars as there's simply NO excuse to not include the visual docking guidance systems on those stands who have them! I sincerely hope that these will be added in the near future, perhaps by collaborating with SODE who's about to provide these at some point in the future. Once the visual docking guidance systems are in place, I'll gladly give five stars!

FSPXAI - BOEING B777 P3DV4V5 AI-TRAFFIC

FSPXAI - BOEING B777 P3DV4V5 AI-TRAFFIC

Another excellent model by FSP. Great detail without being too much for AI aircraft, good animations and high resolution textures. Excellent value for money. And most importantly, this is an FSX/P3D native model, so no shortcomings because of old FS9 stuff being used. There's already a great number of repaints available on the typical AI resource websites. This model is a must for everyone wanting some good quality traffic around their own aircraft, be it through AI flightplans or on VATSIM. I only wish that the developer would improve on flaps animations, so that take-off flaps would deploy at the start of taxi already. And the night lighting textures should be done in a more sophisticated way, so that less individual texture files are needed, as it is done on FAIB models.

JUSTSIM - BARCELONA EL PRAT LEBL FSX P3D

JUSTSIM - BARCELONA EL PRAT LEBL FSX P3D

I wanted to like this scenery, I really did. After seeing Nice, their best scenery yet, I had high hopes for LEBL. Sadly, what JustSim has delivered here is just not going to work… Yes there are good parts in the scenery, such as the crisp and detailed ground work according to P3Dv3 SDK, which I really like! Performance is excellent too, and the scenery is nicely embedded into FTX Global and OpenLC EU. But then you park your aircraft at the main terminal and you first discover that the electronic docking guidance is non-functional decoration. Then you see the extremely low-resolution textures on the main terminal when parked and you start to wonder, why is the tower building done with higher resolution texturing, even if you never see it up close, but the huge terminal, which you clearly see when parking in front of it, is a blurry mess? That should and could have been done a lot better, they managed to do LFMN with good resolution textures too, after all. Performance is extremely good, too good actually and one wonders why the airport is so sterile looking. FPS numbers would have easily allowed to place some baggage carts and other ground clutter between the gates to make it look less like a ghost airport. And the runway lights are still not good either. Part of the approach lighting as well as the centreline lighting is still way too dark and faint, you wouldn’t want to fly there in low visibility, it’s just not realistic that way. So while I do love their ground polygon work, I am really disappointed in the terminal texturing. And the other items mentioned are not helping either. No working safe-gate devices on an international airport, still no decent runway lighting, a sterile apron… Too bad quality has gone down again after Nice.

DIGITAL DESIGN - LOWS SALZBURG W.A. MOZART FSX P3D

Digital Design at its best, wonderful scenery! Blends very well into FTX Global / OpenLC EU from ORBX, good performance and well done night lighting. The photo layer surrounding the airport has been equipped with autogen buildings and vegetation with great care, leaving no big gaps in the coverage. Wish all developers would be that careful! Highly recommended for both VFR adventures and IFR operations. The latter is great when using airliners, since you can do the challenging RNAV visual approach with aircraft up to cat. D.

JUSTSIM - LINZ AUSTRIA BLUE DANUBE AIRPORT LOWL FSX P3D

Nice 3D-modelling with good texture colouring. I like the flawless FTX Global / OpenLC EU integration a lot. Unfortunately JustSim has - as in previous titles - messed up the runway lights completely. Still the flawed centreline lights which are only visible when on the runway but not on final, and have a yellow colour instead of white. Each runway direction features 2 separate green threshold lights, with the correct one being almost invisible and the wrong one visible from far away. And the CAT3 approach lighting for runway 26 is not present unfortunately, they have implemented something else which just isn't correct at all. I can recommend the scenery for daytime VFR flying, however if you like to do airliner ops during night or low visibility, this add-on can not be recommended.

JUSTSIM - GIRONA COSTA-BRAVA LEGE FSX P3D

JUSTSIM - GIRONA COSTA-BRAVA LEGE FSX P3D

Good rendition of this small airport, I very much like the flawless integration into FTX Global and OpenLC EU. Nice modelling and texturing overall, though I wish there would be some static aircraft present on the airport, it looks quite deserted otherwise, as only few airlines fly there. Three stars only because of the bad runway lighting. As has been the case with other products by JustSim, this is again a major flaw of the scenery. Again the runway centreline lights and threshold lights are almost invisible on final, yet the taxiway edge lights are visible from very far. It should be the other way around obviously. And the worst part is that the approach lights are only partly visible. Because of the displaced threshold of RWY20, half of the approach lights can only be seen when almost over the runway, and even then they are very dim and small. Unacceptable for a CAT3 equipped runway. Oh and why do the (small) RWY centreline lights have to be yellow in all their sceneries? They should be white, the same as the runway edge lights. It's a pitty really, the bad runway lights destroy the immersion for an otherwise quite nice scenery.

JUSTSIM - KLAGENFURT-WÖRTHERSEE LOWK FSX P3D

Nice rendition of LOWK. I really like the colouring of the textures and the flawless integration into FTX Global and OpenLC EU. Well done! Some nice static aircraft are present in local liveries, which add a lot to the immersion factor. Only 4 stars because of the runway lighting: The centreline lights are too dim and therefore almost invisible on final. Once landed you can see them, but they should be bigger and brighter, similar to the runway edge lights. Furthermore the threshold lights (red and green) are also too dim and almost invisible for runway 10L. They are a bit better on the opposite runway though. I can recommend this airport if you want to fly in beautiful Austria. I just wish the runway lights would get fixed.

JUSTSIM - VARNA BULGARIA LBWN FSX P3D

JUSTSIM - VARNA BULGARIA LBWN FSX P3D

A fair recreation of this smaller airport, but I can't be happy with the product. As has been mentioned in an earlier review, texture recycling from previous releases is evident, but not a big deal. I wish they had been more careful with placing the autogen vegetation and buildings around the airport. For example on the border fence south of the airport parallel to the runway, one can clearly see flat trees and bushes on the photo texture, but only a tiny amount of trees has been planted there. And the city texture, while being populated by some custom building types, has many big gaps in building placement, even on the highest autogen setting one overflies many flat photo layer buildings on final. That can be done better, other developers have demonstrated that very well. My biggest problem though is with the night lighting, or the runway lights to be more exact. Unfortunately the centreline lights of the runway are completely missing, and the runway threshold lights (green and red) are so small and faint, you can only see them when standing right in front of them. But they should be almost the same intensity as the runway edge lights. This is unacceptable. So 2 stars only from me, mainly because of the very bad runway lights. It would not be hard for the developer to fix this, unfortunately so far they haven't done so and instead continue to throw out one airport after the other. I wish they would fix things like this before moving to the next project.

FSPXAI - AIRBUS A330-200/200F, -300 P3DV4V5 AI-TRAFFIC

Beautiful AI model with great textures and details all over the aircraft. Animations are nicely done too and I love the beautiful landing/taxi lights. All model variants are available which again is a great attention to details. I only wish that the lightmap textures would not be necessary for each individual repaint, but only for each aircraft, the same as on FAIB models. And perhaps flaps/slats extension should be coded to occur when leaving the parking stand, instead of at the runway holding point as it is now. Lastly I wish the beacon and strobe lights were brighter/bigger at night, especially from a distance. However these are just details and they do not take the anything away from the enjoyment. I highly recommend this model for anyone who wants quality AI Traffic with great detail but at great performance too.

TAXI2GATE - HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT VHHH FSX P3D

TAXI2GATE - HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT VHHH FSX P3D

Taxi2Gate's re-creation of Hong Kong was highly anticipated, unfortunately the developers simply failed to deliver an acceptable scenery. After it's release, people asked in awe - by looking at screenshots - how it was possible to deliver a major hub this quickly. Then many bugs surfaced, but it took weeks for T2G to even acknowledge the bugs. Then many more weeks until an update was released. Unfortunately the following items remain even after installing the update (tested in P3D v2): - Double approach lights where they are placed on poles. You can see the custom ones on the poles, plus default P3D ones at airport elevation hovering in the air beneath. - The developer said that automated docking guidance was added with the update. Those are nowhere to be found - All jet bridges are misaligned to their supporting structure - The midfield construction area is modelled extremely crude and ugly, and even worse in P3D the ground texture there is almost all white instead of sand colour - Many service roads lines run along grass or other wrong textured areas, a clear road texture is missing - The taxiway centerline lights appear almost white instead of green - Trees placed in water - and some more minor issues I' don't want to mention here Mentioning all this to the developer, the text is not even read, instead they say that the update was release recently. So support is abysmal to non-existant. Developer doesn't care, they are already working on the next airport, evidenced by their facebook page. Too bad really. There ARE plenty of nice things in the scenery, for example the building modelling is excellent! So is the performance. Hence 2 stars instead of one. But all in all, for me this is not usable. I suggest to look at other developers.

UTT - AI-TRAFFIC TUPOLEV TU134 FS2004

A beautiful AI-aircraft, one can only hope that the developer will continue to bring these quality models to the market. Great textures, great LOD numbers, this is the best AI Tupolev 134 out there. The download contains lots of repaints already, more are available freely at AVSim. Very reasonable price, considering that this will be flying in my simulator for years to come. Works just fine in FSX too! I hope for a Sukhoi Superjet or Tu-154 from this team...
